Quick Thoughts

Before going into more detail about these deals, I want to highlight again that these offers are all only valid on November 28. We wanted to publish about these deals now though in case it affects your travel booking plans in the next few days. We’ll publish this post again on Black Friday as a reminder once they’re all live.

On to the offers themselves.

10x on loyalty eligible hotel bookings

The most notable deal is the opportunity to earn 10x Rove miles on loyalty eligible hotel bookings. As a reminder, hotels listed as being ‘loyalty eligible’ on Rove’s travel booking portal will earn you points in your hotel’s loyalty program in addition to the 10x Rove miles you’ll earn from this promo. You’ll also be eligible to receive elite status benefits, earn elite night credits, etc.

Rove recently made a change which means that loyalty eligible stays are billed by the hotel directly as well. That means you can pay with that hotel chain’s credit card to earn bonus points on the paid stay, you can trigger Amex Offers, Chase Offers, etc. (if available), etc.

Don’t forget that Rove miles are a new transferable currency with more than a dozen transfer partners, so earning the 10x rate (doubled from the usual 5x rate) is – for many people – far more valuable than earning 10% cashback.

A great thing about booking through Rove is that you’ll earn bonus Rove miles on the taxes and fees as well – not just the base room rate, although something like a mandatory hotel fee which is charged at check-in won’t qualify.

500/2,500/5,000 bonus miles

In addition to the 10x promotion, people booking a hotel through Rove for the first time can earn up to 5,000 bonus Rove miles: 500 for spending $100, 2,500 for spending $500, or 5,000 for spending $1,000. The hotel you book for this specific promotion doesn’t have to be loyalty eligible, but if it is then you’ll earn both the 10x from the other promotion and the bonus miles from this promotion. That means that if you spend at least $1,000 on a loyalty eligible booking, you’ll earn at least 15,000 bonus Rove miles.

Note that you can only use one code, so if you have several upcoming paid hotel stays, it could be worth booking that one with the highest eligible promo code.

As with the 10x promo, taxes and fees do count towards the spending thresholds.

3x miles on flight bookings

This will be particularly rewarding if you need to book any expensive paid flights. Be sure to check Cashback Monitor or Savewise (our affiliate link) because some airlines are available through shopping portals. However, earning rates are usually only 1%-2%, so earning 3x transferable miles could be much more rewarding. Bear in mind though that you wouldn’t be booking directly with the airline, so it adds a layer of complexity in the event of irregular operations.

Boosted Giftcards.com earning rates

Earning 5x miles on Airbnb, hotel, and airline gift cards and 4x on Visa and Mastercard gift cards is a decent return. However, keep an eye out for other deals elsewhere on Black Friday as I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon, grocery stores and/or other retailers offered decent discounts on these types of gift cards during the same time period.

Shopping portal double points

35 retailers are due to have their earning rates boosted through the Rove Shopping portal. It’s not clear what their rates will be though, nor how they’ll compare to other shopping portals on Black Friday, so it’ll be worth comparing rates again on Cashback Monitor or Savewise.

Worst website/platform ever! Kept crashing on me over the last 2 days either at the search bar, rate selection, or payment screens. Wasted hours on laptop and phone with mobile and desktop views and still don’t have a reservation!

Any sign up bonus or referral offers?

Nathan

Are bookings treated exactly the same as those made on Hyatt.com? Specifically wondering about Globalist benefits and getting the double EQN from recent Chase Hyatt promo.

Nathan

The Rove rate was a few dollars per night cheaper than the Hyatt.com rate so I booked on Rove. The Rove booking showed immediately in my Hyatt.com profile. However, I was surprised to see Hyatt.com show the reservation as having a “Government Extended” rate.

Both Chatgpt and Gemini 3 recognizes that Rove is sourcing rooms from a possibly unmanaged inventory pool. Chatgpt says it’s ok because “Hyatt recognizes the booking source (Rove) as a valid partner.” Gemini says it’s definitely not ok and I need to contact Rove.

Do you think the hotel will ask me to provide government employee ID?

Vinh

There are plenty of hotels on Rove that have a multiplier greater then 10x. The ones I am looking at are 14x. Does the promo make it 24x???

I believe (but no personal experience) that there are two ways to book hotels on Rove:

  1. Standard Rove bookings, which can have very high Rove point earnings but are third-party bookings excempt from loyalty earning and / or loyalty recognition for chain hotels.
  2. Loyalty eligible bookings, which are “same as direct” bookings, earn loyalty nights & points through the hotel program, and guarantee loyalty recognition, but earn much lower Rove payouts, like 3x to 5x.

It’s the second booking method that seems to be getting bonused in this offer.

Larry,
I haven’t booked with rove but below is an example of 27x on an IHG rewards eligible property. There are also several rewards eligible properties from Marriott and Wyndham in the 20x range.

Only four properties in my search showed under 10x and three of those were independent. I think it’s a ymmv situation. Many BF promotions turn out to be BS promotions, but if they added 10x on top of these rates it would be pretty sweet

I’m wondering
1.Is it possible to use the Visa gift card purchased on Giftcards.com on Rovemiles Hotel booking?
2.Does the “Spend $100 & earn 500 bonus miles” include the tax and fess or just the base fare?

Thank you!!!
