Capital One Shopping offering $80 referral bonus for both sides

Capital One Shopping has once again increased the referral bonus when getting someone to sign up to the shopping portal for the first time, with $80 available to both sides if targeted.

The Deal

• Get $80 when referring someone to Capital One Shopping.
• My referral link. I think I’m already maxed out on referrals, but if you’re joining Capital One Shopping for the first time then this link will get you $80.

Key Terms

• Offer terms may change at any time.
• The operative offer terms for both Referrer and Refer-ee will be determined at the time the Refer-ee creates a Shopping User Account using a referral link.
• This offer is available only for Refer-ees who are new Capital One Shopping users (real people who do not have [and have not previously had] a Capital One Shopping User Account).
• For either the Referrer or Refer-ee to be eligible for a referral bonus, the Refer-ee must install either the Shopping desktop or mobile extension in their primary browser with full permissions, and on a device in which the extension has never previously been installed.
• The Refer-ee must install the Shopping extension within 7 days of creating a Shopping User Account using a referral link.
• The Refer-ee must then regularly use the Shopping extension and shop as they normally would, on their primary browser and with full permissions granted, for 90 days following the installation date.
• The referral bonus will be automatically applied to the relevant accounts within 30 days after the Referrer and Refer-ee have satisfied all requirements.
• Uninstalling the Shopping extension or changing its permissions at any time during the trial period will prevent both the Referrer and Refer-ee from receiving a referral bonus.
• To be eligible for this offer, both the Referrer and Refer-ee must be located in and reside in the United States.
• The Refer-ee must also provide a verified, unique email address, and complete their Capital One Shopping User Account. Additional identity, location, and other eligibility verification may be required. If a Refer-ee is not deemed eligible for a referral bonus, then neither will the Referrer, and vice versa.
• Capital One Shopping users may only earn up to $500 in referral bonuses from the referral program.

Quick Thoughts

Earning $80 as the person being referred or as the referrer is an excellent deal. Even though you can only redeem the cashback for gift cards, Capital One Shopping has had a better selection of those recently and $80 for gift cards is still more valuable than, say, $40 through other portals.

Do note the bolded terms above though. The person being referred has to install the Capital One Shopping browser extension with full permissions on a browser where it’s never been installed before. That has to be done within seven days of signing up and the browser extension then has to remain installed for 90 days before both sides become eligible for the $90 bonus.

Capital One Shopping tends to run targeted referral offers. That might mean that the offer you can refer to is less than $80.
