Quick Thoughts
Greg and I will be speaking together at this event (topic forthcoming), and we look forward to meeting readers and listeners and chatting about points and miles.
While I expect that the topics at this event will lean toward being more Canada-focused, there are numerous broadly-useful topics like Aeroplan stopovers and Avios multi-carrier awards that will surely appeal across borders. I spoke at last year’s Travel Summit in Toronto and met many US-based readers who seemed to find that conference broadly useful. I imagine that many folks will find enough topics of interest to fill a day, even if they are coming from the US.
While most of the speakers hail from Canada, there are some names on the list that you may recognize. I love following Ben’s Big Deal on Instagram, and have learned some great tips from Ben over the years. Tara McAndrew of Travel with TMc was one of my favorite presenters at Travel Summit, and it’s great to see her in the lineup. Prince of Travel has a few speakers in the list, and I have long found their content helpful in learning to maximize opportunities like Aeroplan stopovers and the British Airways multi-carrier award chart.
It’s always hard to answer whether or not a points-and-miles conference will be worthwhile to you, but my experience has long been that attending conferences like these has helped me build valuable connections with folks from whom I have learned a ton (not just during the conferences, but often in message exchanges afterwards). Obviously, the Canadian topics covered may not be of interest to many readers this time around, so whether or not this is a fit for you really comes down to how much you value spending a weekend around other miles-and-points folks. If spending all day talking about miles and points sounds like fun to you, you’ll probably enjoy being surrounded by like-minded, friendly folks for the weekend. If your primary goal is to learn the deep secrets of the local credit union cards of the American Southwest, this probably won’t be the conference for that (no, that isn’t really a thing…to my knowledge, anyway).
Both Greg and I will be attending the Friday evening event for those who buy the add-on, and we will obviously be around all day on Saturday. If you attend, please come say hi; we love meeting folks from our community!

The seminars and presenters are great but the company and friendship is exceptional. Not to be missed.
Please say hi and introduce yourself to me as I will be helping out at the registration desk.
Nick is there a schedule where you and Greg have for speaking engagements. I did not know about this one and would have loved to attend. Also any plans for anything in Boston, we would love to have you guys visit and share your knowledge in person.
We do have an events schedule, but it looks like I had forgotten to add this and the Points Travel Festival Chicago to it. I will fix that.
We did post about this Toronto event back in January (I just updated and republished today) and put it in the week in review that week, but I understand that a single post (or two) is easy to miss. I will get this and Chicago added to our events schedule here:
https://frequentmiler.com/frequent-miler-event-schedule/
I’m not aware of any events taking place in Boston. Generally speaking, we are open to coming to an event to speak when others take on the event planning aspects, but we haven’t wanted to dedicate the time and resources to being event planners ourselves (additionally, it can sometimes be difficult for us to coordinate travel schedules for all of us to attend). All that is to say that we’re open to doing events in different areas, but we aren’t looking to run event planning at this point.
In addition to Points Travel Festival Toronto, the entire Frequent Miler team will be attending Points Travel Festival Chicago in October. However, that event has been sold out since sales opened almost a year in advance. If and when they expand capacity, we will certainly post about it.
Nick, I diddnt find the calendar above thanks for pointing this out. I hear you on the event schedule for you guys must be a nightmare with the show and everything else you both do.
I love the show and look forward to your podcast and coffee break every week. You guys are the best and most entertaining travel show out there. Keep up the good work and inspiring people. Also thanks for taking a few minutes to respond to my question. Have a great day.
I hope to someday make one of these events! I would love to meet you guys in person! I have learned a lot from the FM team and I appreciate all you guys do for the community!
There’s your list of weekly podcast ideas covered for a few months.
Aww. That’s so cool. Have fun everyone!
Is there a similar event in the US? Sounds fun
Yes, there are from time to time. There’s a Points Travel Festival Chicago in October, but that one sold out very quickly.
Canada sucks.
Oh, Dr. Toboggan. Not this again…
Canada is lovely. Get over it.
No chance of StubHub ticket sales??? 😉
Weekend at the Hilton garden Toronto airport shoot me now lol
*pew pew*
“…topics of interest to (film) a day even if they are coming from the US.”
Hmmm…I’ll bring my. VHS camcorder!
Definitely meant fill a day — I’m sure that speakers will not want their sessions filmed :-). Thanks for the correction – fixed!
Although, that said, if you bring a VHS camcorder, maybe I’ll make an exception for you :-).
