A new transfer bonus has launched from Chase Ultimate Rewards to the Avios programs (Aer Lingus, British Airways, and Iberia). Keep in mind that you can transfer from there to other Avios programs like Qatar Airways and Finnair, so this can be a widely useful bonus, even if not the most generous we’ve seen to the Avios programs.

The Deal
- Chase Ultimate Rewards is offering a 20% transfer bonus to Avios programs, including British Airways Executive Club, Aer Lingus Aer Club, and Iberia Plus from 12:00am ER on March 1, 2026 to 11:59pm ET on March 31, 2026.
Key Terms
- Expires 11:59 PM ET on March 31, 2026.
- Bonus Avios will be awarded by Aer Lingus in your Aer Lingus AerClub account after your transfer is complete.
- Promotional offer terms and conditions apply.
Quick Thoughts
Avios is the rare airline currency that is shared by a number of different airlines, each with some of its own sweet spot uses. You can therefore take advantage of this deal for any of the included programs and transfer on to other Avios programs. We recently made a video explaining how to easily move Avios between programs with everything you need to know about the simplified Avios.com method in 2026.
It is worth a mention that this bonus will appear on the Avios side, so you won’t see the bonus reflected in the transfer on the Chase side. Instead, the bonus Avios are meant to show up in your British Airways/Aer Lingus/Iberia account separately.
Historically, Avios were thought to be best for short-haul oneworld flights booked via British Airways Avios or for Iberia Business class (particularly from the east coast to Spain) booked via Iberia. However, with the expansion of Avios programs, other good opportunities have popped up over the years like expanded access to awards on Qatar Airways. Be sure to know your Avios program well as they differ significantly: if you booked a short-haul American Airlines award via British Airways Avios, and you later needed to cancel it, you’d just have to forfeit the $5.60 in taxes to get your Avios back. Book the same award via Iberia Plus and it is completely nonrefundable. It is important to understand the program rules for the program you use to book awards.
It is worth noting that past transfer bonuses have generally been more generous. We saw a 30% transfer bonus from Chase a few months ago, a 40% bonus from Citi a month before that, and a 30% bonus from Amex last summer. And Bilt offered a bonus of up to 100% for its December Rent Day. I wouldn’t be in any hurry to transfer speculatively in this case. At the same time, if you have a valuable award to book, it could still make sense to take advantage of this while it is available.
