Another week, another great earning rate for a travel site from both Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers. For today only, you can earn up to 40% cashback or up to 35X miles at TripAdvisor.

As a reminder, Capital One Shopping is a regular shopping portal that anyone – even non-Capital One cardholders – can use. The TripAdvisor rate will be targeted and I’ve found that the best offers usually come via email. To get emails, you’ll need to have the Capital One Shopping browser extension installed. Seeing as this is their ‘Today’s Top Offer’, you can browse TripAdvisor or pretty much any site where Capital One Shopping has an affiliate relationship and within a couple of hours you should receive some kind of email with boosted rates available.
In the email I received this morning they’re offering 40% rewards for activities, experiences, and tours, as well as 24% rewards for an instant book hotel stay. We sometimes see even higher targeted offers via email as the day goes on, so keep an eye out for those in case the rate goes as high as 50%.
As for Capital One Offers, the TripAdvisor rate might be even more enticing despite being a seemingly lower earning rate. On our accounts, I saw 35X miles for activities, experiences, and tours, as well as 21X miles for an instant book hotel stay. The reason that might be more appealing is because you’d be earning transferable Capital One miles via Capital One Offers, versus the cashback that can only be redeemed for select gift cards via Capital One Shopping.
The catch with Capital One Offers though is that you have to be a cardholder. The 35X/21X rate is what I saw on our miles-earning cards. If you only have cards with Capital One that earn cashback, your return will be displayed as the cashback rate you’ll earn. Even a 35%/21% cashback rate via Capital One Offers might be preferable to the rate available via Capital One Shopping seeing as Capital One Offers gives straight cashback.
You can find Capital One Offers by logging in to your account and scrolling down to the section where it says ‘Activate shopping offers.’ Click on ‘View all offers’ and you should see TripAdvisor listed towards the top.

can’t for the life of me find an instant hotel booking. What a waste of time. Also, better off with klook or other otas for much better pricing.
I believe TA doesn’t actually have hotel booking ability (they just link to others OTAs). Apparently they used to but not for years now. If anyone has seen a TA hotel booking or better yet done it and had it credit on C1S, please correct me.
