Over the weekend, a Citi ThankYou Rewards transfer bonus launched for cardmembers transferring points from the Citi Strata Elite, Strata Premier, Prestige, or AT&T Access moe card to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Through April 18, 2026, Citi is offering a 30% transfer bonus when transferring points to Virgin. While that’s not quite as generous as the last couple of 40% transfer bonuses that we’ve seen from other transferable points systems, this bonus nonetheless means that economy class award tickets to London start at just 4,700 Citi points (which is more than enough for a 6,000-mile Virgin award ticket from the east coast to London).

Quick Thoughts
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club offers some great sweet spots for flying Virgin itself, with economy class awards from the east coast of the United States to London starting at just 6,000 points one-way. Premium Economy can also be a terrific bargain, with flights starting just over 10,000 miles one-way (and Greg and Carrie enjoyed the Premium Economy experience quite a bit).
Air France and KLM can sometimes be a bargain through Virgin, particularly when you find off-peak business class (which can cost just 48,500 miles one-way in business class from the east coast to Europe). Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points can also be moved to Virgin Red, where they can be redeemed for things like Virgin Voyages cruises, Virgin Limited Edition stays, Virgin Hotels, and many other experiences.
On the other hand, keep in mind that Virgin has shown a propensity to devalue awards without notice or notification. Over the past several years, they have increased award pricing and/or surcharges overnight. Over time, I have become wary of transferring to Virgin even when I have a redemption in mind for fear of having to cancel the trip and get stuck with Virgin points that might be worth significantly less, thanks to unannounced devaluations.
That said, with the right redemption in mind, you can certainly get a fantastic deal with this transfer bonus. We have added it to our Current Point Transfer Bonuses page.
