IHG promo: Earn 2K points every 2 nights or 8K points every 4 nights (your choice)

IHG One Rewards has opened registration for its new promotion which is similar to one they’ve offered in the past.

You get the choice between earning 2,000 bonus points every two nights or 8,000 bonus points every four nights.

The Deal

• Earn the following bonus points with IHG’s latest promotion:
  • 2,000 bonus points every two nights, or
  • 8,000 bonus points every four nights

Key Terms

• This promotional offer (the “Promotion”) gives IHG One Rewards members the opportunity to choose one of two different offers for earning IHG One Rewards bonus points. To participate in the Promotion, an individual must have an active, valid IHG One Rewards member account, must be a resident of only North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean or a country in the Middle East, Europe, Africa or Asia, excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and must first register their member number for one of two available offers: (1) the “Earn 2,000 points every 2 nights” offer (the “2,000 Points Offer”); or (2) the “Earn 8,000 points every 4 nights” offer (the “8,000 Points Offer”).
• If a member has registered for the 2,000 Points Offer, the member can earn 2,000 IHG One Rewards bonus points each time they complete two (2) Qualifying Room Nights during the Promotion Period (defined below), with unlimited earning ability. If a member registered for the 8,000 Points Offer, the member can earn 8,000 IHG One Rewards bonus points each time they complete four (4) Qualifying Room Nights during the Promotion Period, with unlimited earning ability.
• A member can only register for one of these two offers. Once a member has registered, the member is only eligible for that offer and cannot register for the other offer.
• Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting May 6, 2026 through May 19, 2026 (the “Pre-Registration Period”). Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under either the 2,000 Points Offer or the 8,000 Points Offer beginning May 20, 2026 and ending on August 31, 2026 (the “Promotion Period”).
•  Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period.
• The first Qualifying Stay must occur after registration and within the Promotion Period.
• Stays completed prior to registration for this Promotion, even if they occur during the Promotion Period, will not qualify for earning. By registering for the Promotion, a member is accepting these Terms & Conditions.
• For purposes of this Promotion, a “Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.

Quick Thoughts

Unless you know for certain that you’ll only stay two or three nights during the promotion period, it makes sense to register for the ‘Earn 8K points every four nights’ rather than the ‘Earn 2K points every two nights. That because if you register for the 8K promotion and only stay two or three nights, you’ll earn zero bonus points. However, if you register for the 2K promotion you’ll only earn 4K bonus points every four nights rather than 8K. Even if you stay for six nights, you’d only earn 6K bonus points under the 2K offer versus 8K with the other offer.

The registration emails that IHG is sending out provide one-click registration for one option, with the other option hidden away at the bottom of the email. On mine, the main option listed was the 2K/two night option, so be careful not to click on the wrong email link as then you won’t be able to switch to the other one. On the registration page linked to in the post above, that lets you choose one or the other.
