If you’re planning on having a destination wedding, IHG currently has a promotion that can earn you up to 300,000 bonus IHG One Rewards points if you book your wedding at one of their participating properties.

A maximum of 300,000 IHG One Rewards Points may be earned through the Promotional Offer.

Quick Thoughts

Although you inevitably earn more rewards the more you spend, you actually get a better return on your spend at the lowest threshold. Our Reasonable Redemption Value for IHG points is 0.59 cents per point, so that’s the value we’ll use for the following calculations:

• Spend $10K+ & earn 120,000 bonus points worth $708 (i.e. 7.08% return)
• Spend $20K+ & earn 180,000 bonus points worth $1,062 (i.e. 5.31% return)
• Spend $30K+ & earn 240,000 bonus points worth $1,416 (i.e. 4.72% return)
• Spend $40K+ & earn 300,000 bonus points worth $1,770 (i.e. 4.43% return)

Those amounts aren’t going to make it worth booking a destination wedding just for the sake of it. However, if you were planning on having one anyway, it might be worth considering an IHG location in order to earn a substantial number of bonus points.

Be sure to note that this offer is only available at select properties in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. The landing page lists a whole bunch of hotels and resorts worldwide including the Maldives, Rome, and more, but those are displayed in relation to redeeming the points you’ll earn for your honeymoon.
