Alaska Airlines Shopping Portal has a terrific promotion on all purchases made through the portal before May 9, with a bonus of 400 miles on $100 total spend and a bonus of 2000 miles on $400 total spend. This is in addition to the standard portal rate and credit card rewards, potentially making this a very worthwhile promo.

- Spend $100 and earn 400 bonus Mileage Plan miles
- Spend $400 and earn 2,000 bonus Mileage Plan miles

Terms and conditions
- *During the “Member Appreciation Bonus” offer, which runs from 5/2/2022 through 5/9/2022 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 2,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles on qualifying purchases made through the Mileage Plan Shopping mall or from purchases made through Mileage Plan Shopping in-store offers.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 400 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $100; or Tier 2 bonus: 2,000 miles for qualifying purchases of $400 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.
- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your Mileage Plan Shopping account.
Quick Thoughts
This is en excellent promotion because it means you’ll earn 4x bonus miles/dollar when spending exactly $100 or 5x bonus miles per dollar when spending $400. These bonuses are in addition to whatever standard rates they’re offering through the portal AND in addition to any credit card rewards. As always, check rates on Cashback Monitor before making a purchase.
GC Galore reports that, although gift cards are exlcuded, you should be able to buy gift cards from Giftcards.com or Raise and still trigger the bonus miles.

If we use the Alaska Air B of A credit card,
do we also earn 3 miles for purchases from Alaska Air
if on their shopping site, or their hotel and car rental sites?
You would yes, but unfortunately (and ironically), Alaska flights aren’t on the shopping portal. Hotels are and they would count towards the total, so long as you made the spend by 5/9. You would get the bonus, the 500 miles through the portal and the earnings through the Alaska hotel site, but I’m not certain whether you’d earn 3x on the credit card or not, as I don’t know whether or not the merchant is Alaska, or rocketmiles…my assumption would be the charge would be rocketmiles and if that’s the case, no.
