Nick mentioned that he thought the 10k status points posted within the first few weeks of opening the card. This contrasts everything else I’ve read (the status point bonus only starts at account anniversary). Can anyone confirm?
Right,
”On each account anniversary year, you will receive 10,000 status points.”

I’ve never flown Alaska metal and yet they’ve made this card intriguing because of the frequency I fly or anticipate flying other Oneworld carriers and their specialty partners. Kudos to their team.
My personal situation, I will probably wait to pick up the card until next year. I’m still under 5/24 at the moment with some personal Chase cards I’m interested in and I’d like the spending towards the SUB on this card to give status points for the 2026 qualification year. If I knew I would be taking more partner flights before the end of 2025 (or if I wasn’t under 5/24) I think the elevated bonus and benefits would be enough to jump on it.
I’ve been on the fence about this but I might take the plunge. I have the current Alaska MP card with the companion fare.
I’m SAN based and fly Alaska frequently to Florida and Hawaii. I’m also booking frequent partner flight on AA to Phoenix and will be living in my Scottsdale house part time next year. Seems like a no brainer now considering I’ll be booking multiple partner flights per month.
I’m MVP Gold and maintain that fairly easily. Not sure if I would hit 80k but maybe.
And now, it turns out you don’t need to be on the pre-registered waiting list to get 105K sub.
Just call (800) 932-2775 and give rep Priority Code GAATB2, make sure they take your Atmos # so you don’t have to go through the mess of merging two accounts later.
Boa is rolling out the 105K email really slowly. P2 got it yesterday and mine is still nowhere to be found. So, I used the priority code route.
I actually got the email two days ago. Originally I was going to pass but now I think it will be worthwhile to have. None of the places I typically fly Alaska have a lounge currently but San Diego will have one in a year or so.
