Quick Thoughts
Barclays tends to offer increased welcome offers on the set of Wyndham credit cards at least a couple of times per year. While these latest increases aren’t all-time highs, they’re very good offers if you’re in the market for a large stash of Wyndham points.
One of the best features on all three cards is the ability to get an instant 10% discount when booking award stays. That 10% discount is applied not only to stays at Wyndham brands, but on Vacasa and Cottages.com stays too.
The no annual fee Earner card comes with Gold status and offers a good welcome bonus of 60,000 points on $2,000 spend considering it’s a no annual fee card.
The highest bonus available is on the Earner Plus card. That’s awarding 90,000 bonus points on only $2,000 of spend too. That card has a $75 annual fee, but you earn 7,500 bonus points at renewal each year, the value of which pretty much covers the cost of the annual fee. The card also comes with Platinum status and the ability to earn 4x at grocery stores and restaurants.
What’s a little unfortunate is that the most compelling card for many people on an ongoing basis – the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business card – has the least compelling welcome offer. The reason the business card is so popular is because it offers Wyndham Diamond status, as well as the ability to earn 8x points on gas expenditure, as well as 5x on marketing, advertising and utilities spend. For this latest welcome offer though, you have to spend $4,000 in 90 days to earn 50,000 bonus points, then an additional $8,000 (for a total of $12,000) over the course of a year to earn an additional 25,000 bonus points. That’s an incremental return of 3.125x per dollar on that extra $8,000 of spend. For the first tier of the welcome offer, you have to spend twice the amount of the two personal cards, yet earn 10,000 or 40,000 fewer bonus points at that level.
In terms of earning rates for stays at Wyndham properties, the Earner, Earner Plus and Earner Business cards earn 5x, 6x and 8x respectively.

Hello. Can you hold all three cards or is there a specific order to follow (like Amex)? Thanks
It says the previous best on the biz card was 100k for $15k spend. Was that also tiered? Also how tough is approval for the biz card? For Barclay AA it is such a hassle to verify identity when getting a biz card.
It was 50K after $4K spend in first 90 days, then an additional 50K after a total of $15K spend in the first year.
As for getting approval, some people have no issue, while others have a ridiculously convoluted procedure. Nick detailed the experience of two of his family members a couple of years ago here https://frequentmiler.com/two-very-different-experiences-applying-for-the-wyndham-earner-business-card/
