Last month Capital One ran an incredibly generous promotion that could get you free or incredibly cheap flights. They’re at it again with an offer giving $200 off Premier Collection stays (their version of Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts). While a $200 discount is good, it gets even better when you realize that it’s valid on one night stays and there’s no minimum room rate which means you can potentially get a free – or almost free – hotel stay, not to mention the perks you get on Premier Collection stays.
The Deal
- Get $200 off when booking stays with Capital One Premier Collection.
Key Terms
- This is a limited offer that will provide eligible customers a discount of up to $200 on a Premier Collection hotel reservation made via Capital One Travel during the offer period.
- This offer will only be available until the earlier of (i) December 31, 2023, or (ii) while supplies last; and the offer is only available for one booking per account.
- The discount will be provided as a one-time, single discount not exceeding $200. Once applied, the discount will not be available for other reservations, even if the qualifying reservation is canceled.
- This offer is available to Venture X and Venture X for Business cardholders.
- This promotion cannot be retroactively applied to bookings made before the offer starts, and will not be applied to any bookings made after the offer expires.
Quick Thoughts
This has the potential to be an excellent deal, especially if you’re visiting a big city with a Premier Collection presence during a quiet time of year. Washington D.C. has a couple of properties that cost less than $200 before taxes and fees towards the end of the year and I imagine there are other locations where you’d be able to find something similar happening.
For example, Riggs Washington D.C. is available from $197 per night on December 29. When taxes and fees are added, it bumps the price to $229.85, with the $200 discount from this promotion dropping the cost to only $29.85. That’s nuts considering you also get a $100 experience credit, free Wi-Fi and daily complimentary breakfast for two people.
If you still have some or all of your $300 Venture X or Venture X Business travel credit remaining, you can use those credits to pay the balance of the stay.
When that ludicrously generous flight offer was live a few weeks ago, it quickly sold out. I imagine something similar will happen with this Premier Collection promotion, so you’ll want to book ASAP if you’re interested. However, note that you can only redeem the offer once and if you cancel the booking, you can’t use it again.

It’s annoying Capital One limits these offers such that they get used up within hours. Why not just make more available to all cardholders and give everyone an equal opportunity.
Just checked right now 11/2/2023 10:50pm MST and the $200 Travel Offer is not under my offers anymore. Looking for the hotels that qualified, it doesn’t show the $200 banner/text anymore. I have a feeling that it has been removed.
Same here.
I think its dead
If the price you see on an OTA (Google Hotels is good for this) is lower than your final C1 price, call for a price match. I was able to save an additional $22 on a 1-night stay in Denver. Of course this comes back as a further travel credit though.
our other people having errors booking? it shows hotel and room available but when I try to book, it pops up error message unable to process. I called capital one, they couldn’t get it to book, I went directly to the hotel website and they have plenty of rooms available. I am booking 7 months in advance…Pendry in Chicago
I had trouble (it errored out) when I used any amount of my C1 travel credit. As soon as I removed it, it booked instantly.
Thanks for the tip! I just did that and it did book fine!
Same issue here but not using the C1 travel credit doesn’t solve it… I’ve tried both website and app. Will try again few days later.
If I book a stay through the cap one portal will it count towards annual nights stayed say with Hyatt or Hilton?
No, it is 3rd party booking so no benefits or elite nights
Thanks for reminding me of this. I was able to use the credit to book a night in Madrid for an upcoming holiday trip..
[…] Frequent Miler first reported that Capital One is now offering $200 off any Premier Collection hotel booking. The discount is applied instantly at checkout. This offer will only be available until December 31, 2023, or while supplies last. And you can use it only for one booking per account. […]
Seeing decent availability in California and Hawaii on random dates. Just unfortunate Premier Collection is so limited in size – very few hotel Hawaii options, none in my home state of AZ.
Booked a room at the Pendry Chicago for $194 + $37 tax – $200 travel offer = $31 (+ $30 service fee due at check-in). Amazing value after considering it comes with the $100 experience (dining) credit and daily breakfast.
Did the same at $180 + tax for the wife’s birthday
A lot more hotels are bookable again! as of 8:35PM PT
Nice!!! Used it for a hotel next year in Madrid for both me and spouse.
Some hotels appear as available in the search, then disappear in other searches. Some kind of bug I think. Maybe I should call them
Thanks for the heads up! Got a night at the Tokyo Station Hotel for a night for $200 after the credit. Great way to end my stay in Tokyo!
I booked 1 night Regent Shanghai for $39 after the credit. Hong Kong options were too expensive (I used Hyatt free night combined with points instead) and Bangkok said not available.
Do Globalist benefits apply? (Asking because Globalist benefits apply to FHR bookings)
