American Airlines shopping portal promo: Earn up to 2000 bonus miles

The American Airlines shopping portal is offering up to 2,000 bonus miles when shopping at both in-store and online retailers.

• During the “Member Appreciation Bonus” offer, which runs from 5/14/2026 through 5/21/2026 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 2,000 AAdvantage^® miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the base AAdvantage^® miles earned from shopping online through the AAdvantage eShopping^® mall.
• This one-time bonus award will be determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period using one of the following tiers:
  • Tier 1 bonus: 500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200; or
  • Tier 2 bonus: 2,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $800 or more.
• “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.
• Please see the AAdvantage eShopping^® mall site fordetails on product eligibility and other restrictions. Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage eShopping^® account. The Tier 2 bonus provides the maximum number of miles that will be awarded.

Quick Thoughts

While is a decent bonus, note that it requires signifcantly more spend for similar amounts of rewards as the current offers from the United and Alaska portals. In fact, United gives you even more miles (2,500) for half the spend. If you’re just looking to maximize rewards, those might be better options.

Don’t forget that the American portal has a relatively new card-linked in-store feature, with that spend counting towards the spending threshold in addition to online purchases.
