Quick Thoughts
These browser button offers for 1,000 bonus miles/points aren’t huge wins, but they sure are easy wins.
All you have to do is install a button and use it to spend $25+ and you’ll earn 1,000 bonus miles. If your transaction happens to be for exactly $25, that’s a bonus worth 40x per dollar which is a great return and is on top of the standard earnings from the portal.
I’m not sure if you can have more than one button installed on the same browser at the same time, but there’s an easy workaround if you’d like to take advantage of two or more of these airline shopping portal offers. When there was a similar offer last year, Gena commented with the following helpful information:
Google Chrome has profiles — make yourself as many as you want so you can have 1/each extension, so you can have them all still installed for 30 days, but not in use in your standard/normal profile: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824
Not seeing the 1,000 point bonus offers today.
They’re still showing for me.
That’s wild. I checked again. Still not showing the bonus for me. When I click your links, it is showing the option to install the buttons and earn miles, but no mention of the 1,000 mile bonus for first purchase.
It was showing yesterday and I was able to install the American button through the link showing the 1,000 mile bonus, but not seeing it on my end today for any of the airlines.
Must just be me if others are still seeing it.
Have you installed the button for those other airline portals in the past? Otherwise, do you see the offer details when actually logged in to the portals?
No, this is my first time with the buttons. I did see the 1000 mile, bonus offer yesterday when I used your link for American. I installed that button and I feel pretty sure that worked OK and that I should get the 1000 mile bonus. I did not install any of the other buttons, but I did follow your links yesterday and they all showed the 1000 mile bonus, if I installed. But I did not.
Clicking the one button (American) I installed takes me directly into the American eshopping portal. I do not see any mention of the bonus offer, but I expect that is because I have already installed the button.
Just a bit of a mystery why none of the links are showing the 1000 mile bonus offer today for me. It’s no big deal. I really just thought that maybe the offers had been pulled.
That’s strange. These airline portals are all run by Cartera, so I wonder if they pick up that you’ve already got one of their buttons installed on your browser and so don’t display the offer to you anymore.
I have done this in the past and removed the button after getting the bonus. Can this bonus be earned a second time?
The terms state that you won’t earn the bonus if you’ve previously installed the button. I don’t know if that’s actually enforced though – I’m guessing it is.
