Amex Business Platinum 120K Upgrade Offer is back again

18

Many folks are again finding that their Business Green and Business Gold cards are eligible for an offer to upgrade to the Business Platinum card and earn 120,000 points after spending $10,000 on purchases in the first 3 months after upgrading.

The Deal

  • There is a targeted offer out for Amex Business Green and Business Gold cardholders to upgrade to the Business Platinum card and earn 120K Membership Rewards points after spending $10K+ of eligible purchases within 3 months.

If you see the message below after click “Upgrade Now,” it means that you’re not targeted:

Quick Thoughts

This is a solid offer for those who can meet the spending requirements and particularly for those who have or have had a Business Platinum card before (and thus may not be eligible for a new cardmember welcome offer). There are frequently better new cardholder offers for the Business Platinum, but these upgrade offers can be useful for many people since they don’t require a new account and the $10K minimum spend is much lower.

Our household has a couple of Business Green and Gold cards that qualify for this offer, and it’s a great opportunity to earn a nice haul of points without needing to open a new account. It’s great to see Amex continue to march on with its points parade, this time offering current cardholders an incentive to consider upgrading.

I applied for the business gold card in April, 2024. I received the platinum upgrade offer in October, 2024. My annual fee is set to come this month. Should I wait until April 2026 before trying to cancel the card since I received the platinum card upgrade? Thanks!

So far I can’t find an expiration date for this, although it says they may withdraw the offer at any time.

Does anyone have an expiration date? Sometimes if you get the offer in your normal list of Amex Offers, a date is provided. Thanks.

I was approved for the upgrade! Not only have I had a couple Plat Biz’s before, but I’ve been in Pop Up Prison for a year or so. Big win for me!

I just took a target 250K MR with $20K spend offer for Amex Business Platinum. And it looks like I’m still targeted for this 120K upgrade offer. Are there potential issues with Amex by double dipping and ending up with 2 Business Platinum cards this way?

DCJoe

No, it’s fine to do this. Upgrade offers have no impact on new card offers, and vice versa.

Thx to your post, I logged into P2s acct, sure enough he had the offer. Score. Another small benefit is that Amex will prorate the Gold AF as it’s only 8 mos old.

Does this bypass the 90 day same card rule?

Ned

Where does this page show up after logging in? Once I click upgrade, it does not mention the bonus anymore. Just wanted to make sure I was targeted.

Gian

Great. Post it in public to entice people to double dip with SUB and get another waive of SD.

Why post false information

That might be an issue if this was a hacked link, but its not. It’s this simple link that was found on my son’s account when the upgrade was offered to him:

Does the upgrade show up as a new card for 5/24 etc?

I had 120k after 6k spend on my personal gold. I just cancelled my platinum a month ago so 100% took the offer!

Think you are referring to a separate personal gold -> personal platinum upgrade offer. This post is regarding a business gold -> business platinum upgrade. Both are worthwhile!

I have the offer but have had my Biz Gold for less than a year (signed up August 2024), will I lose my Biz Gold bonus if I do this right now?
