I know it’s one sign up bonus per lifetime for each Amex card. I know that. I’ve never signed up for the Surpass before. But I have gotten a bonus for it! How? Because I got a 50K point upgrade bonus in the past on my no-fee Hilton card. So…does that exclude me from this offer? Any data points?

Greg

I just signed up yesterday at the lower amount. Does anyone know if Amex will increase the bonus if I call them?

[…] today I covered the increased 100K offer on the Hilton HHonors Surpass card from American Express. It seems they also increased the bonus on their no annual fee Hilton HHonors […]

FP

Per Doctor of Credit, there is also a new offer for the no-fee Amex Hilton card at 75K points after $1K spend.

Since Hilton points are amount the lowest value points this card hasn’t been of interest to me before, but this gets it up to $300-$400 in value so maybe it’s now worth it.

Yeah, HHonors points are not worth much when used for higher end Hilton properties. But they have some nice lower end properties, and the points are worth much more when used for lower end properties. Example: Hampton by Hilton in Panama City, Panama. Stayed there last Fall for five nights for only 4k points a night. 100k points goes a long way when used like this!!!

Dave

That would give you pretty good value for those points. Is there an award chart for HH points? I created an account, but when I do a search it will only show me dollars. I cant get anything to show me price in points. Thanks

There are hotel lists by award category. They are not easy to find on the hilton site, but if you google “Hilton category 1” you can see a direct link to that list. And just work your way up by googling the next category. Alternatively, for a list of the cheapest hilton hotels on points this is an excellent resource: http://travelisfree.com/2014/08/01/best-hilton-category-1-2-hotels/

To search a particular area for hotels with redeemable awards, login in to your Hilton account and just to the right of the search field will be a small block that says “Use Hhonor Points.” Check that block before you click the search (“Find it.”)
