Last weekend I wrote about a possible way to get an American Express Platinum 100K offer. Despite a close friend getting that to show up on May 1, none of you were able to replicate it. Thankfully, a new direct application link has surfaced on Reddit that doesn’t require anything but a click.

The Offer

Earn 100,000 Membership Rewards points after $3K in spend during the first three months.

Things to Know

  • Annual fee of $450 is not waived the first year.
  • Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product.

You can find a direct link to the application on our Best Signup Offers page.

[…] at Amex must have been really pissed that a 100K offer for the Amex Platinum card was erroneously let loose on Reddit back in May.  With similar situations in the past Amex has […]

[…] branded platinum card.  That’s the highest offer I’ve ever seen for that card.  Even better, Amex briefly offered 100K points after $3K spend for their regular unbranded Platinum card.  Unfortunately, that offer disappeared at around 10:30 ET yesterday […]

Anyone have a live link or advice as to how I can still get the offer?

[…] but it was also picked up by View from the Wing, One Mile at a Time, The Points Guy, Frequent Miler, Miles to Memories, Rapid Travel Chai, Travel Sisters oh and just about everyone […]

Brandon

How long will this offer be available?

Jeff

Looks dead. That was fast. Just got my approval in last night.

ed

Not dead for me. Just got approved a moment ago. Went through a direct link from elsewhere. It still exists as this writing, but I’m sure it will disappear soon.

ed

Well, it appears mine may have been one of the very last to get approved. I had the application in process as it was expiring, but got approved. Whew! Made it within seconds.

Duke

Where did you find the link?

ed

Sorry, the offer has expired. I tried from different locations. Dead. This offer will come around again, just have to wait. I didn’t get it last time, but waited for this time and got it. I had other things I was applying for last time and didn’t want the pull at that time.

Below is what AmEx website states about $200 Airline Fee Credit:
Incidental air travel fees charged prior to selection of a qualifying airline are not eligible for statement credits. Airline tickets, upgrades, mileage points purchases, mileage points transfer fees, gift cards, duty free purchases, and award tickets are not deemed to be incidental fees.

*How would airline gift cards not be considered Gift Cards?

Airline tickets don’t trigger the airline fee reimbursement but airline gift cards usually do

Eric S.

Applied for myself and approved. Had the Ameriprise version but not the regular version.
Applied for my wife and approved. She had the Mecedes Benz version before but not the regular version.

Two for two. Never thought I would be able to get both of us in for a 100K offer. YEAH!

Thanks for the tip and link.

Greg it was nice to finally meet you in person at FTU Vegas.

Is the Mercedez-Benz American Express Platinum a different product from this offer?

Greg The Frequent Miler

Yes the Mercedes Platinum card is a different product

Frank

OK, went ahead and was approved immediately. That’s 2 for 2.
Thanks for the tip.
Just have to spend $6K now ($400 will of course be on airline tickets).

Greg The Frequent Miler

Airline tickets don’t trigger the airline fee reimbursement but airline gift cards usually do

Frank

Well, yes, of course – except for SW I haven’t bought an airline ticket in 22 years.

Al

Awesome! Got it for wife and me – under 60 sec. approvals.

Def worth $450 for 100K points, plus lounge access, TSA Global Entry, $200 in checked baggage & drinks, gold status on SPG & HHonors, etc.

Frank

Sorry, I meant I have the AMEX Ameriprise Platinum card – does that make me ineligible? (I got only 25,000 points but no fee).

I did get one for my wife – Thanks for the link !!!

Greg The Frequent Miler

Ameriprise is a different product so you would be fine (unless you’ve had the regular Platinum card before)

Laura

I used your link to sign up my husband and he was approved in under 60 seconds. Woo-hoo! Thank you FM! 🙂

Greg The Frequent Miler

Great!

Mark O

Think it will be honored? Anyone confirming with amex after approval?

Greg The Frequent Miler

I don’t see why not

Frank

I have the AMEX Fidelity Ameriprise card – does that make me ineligible?

Greg The Frequent Miler

That’s a different product so you can get this a one too

Sam

Ameriprise and Fidelity are competing financial firms, and I do not think there is an Amex Fidelity Ameriprise card. Did you mean the Ameriprise Platinum?
