American Express has announced that Shop Small will be returning this year from June 29.
Shop Small will run for almost two months as it’s due to end on August 22, 2021. Even better, it’ll be accompanied by an Amex Offer giving $10 back at participating small businesses. Per the terms they appear to have sent to merchants:
From June 29 – August 22, 2021, eligible Card Members will receive a statement credit of up to $10, for eligible purchases made at a business location on the Shop Small Map, located here, or the Online Directory, located here, with an enrolled Card. Enrollment limited. The Amex Offer is only targeted to select Card Members and the Offer is available for varying and limited periods of time and are subject to change.
It sounds like Amex will be changing how the Amex Offer works compared to last year. With last year’s version you could get $5 back when spending $10+ up to ten times. If you had a hard time using up those credits at small businesses, buying gift cards from places like Fluz and eGifter also worked to trigger the statement credits.
This latest announcement refers to a $10 credit, so hopefully there’s a limit of more than one so that it ends up being just as rewarding as last year.
