Quick Thoughts
Beauty is in the eye of the cardholder when it comes to the value of Delta SkyMiles. If you’re primarily a domestic traveler, there are many times the only way you’ll be able to book a Delta flight with rewards. At times, they can also be great for booking partner awards that neither begin nor end in the United States.
On the other hand, if your primary goal is international partner award travel to/from the United States, Delta SkyMiles may not be your currency of choice.
For those whose use patterns are a good fit with Delta SkyMiles, it is always best to pick up one of these cards while they are offering elevated bonuses like these. If you’re just after maximum bang for your buck, you’ll probably want to consider the Gold or Gold Business SkyMiles cards as those offer great introductory bonuses and have a $0 annual fee in the first year ($95 thereafter for the consumer Gold and $150 thereafter for the Gold Business).
On the other hand, if you want to spend your way to MQDs, you’ll probably want a Reserve card (or to consider getting a Delta Platinum or Delta Reserve card that you don’t yet have in order to collect credit for $2.5K in MQDs).
As noted above, these offers are scheduled to end next month, so you have some time to consider, but mark your calendar accordingly.

Is it an issue to apply for Gold and then after a year downgrade to Blue or just close before paying next year’s annual fee? Delta is not useful for me atm and I don’t want to pay annual fee if it stays that way. I also don’t want to end up in AMEX PuP.
Moving to new city where Delta might now be relevant, but don’t understand this sentence: “If you’re primarily a domestic traveler, there are many times the only way you’ll be able to book a Delta flight with rewards.” Does that mean it is easy or difficult (or too high?) to use Delta domestically?
Can Delta Stays credit be used for someone else that is not the cardholder?
Yes, as long as you pay with your Delta card through Delta Stays, it doesn’t matter whose name is on the reservation. I booked a stay for my niece this way in May and it worked out great.
Gold Biz is great with the $0 intro…get 2x calendar year $150 delta “stays” reimbursements out of it
Gold personal is also $0 intro
fewer miles in SUB and only $100 stay reimbursement — why would you get Gold personal?
I don’t disagree with your sentiments, but some people don’t want to get business cards, and some people already have the business card. Sometimes it is easy to forget that we aren’t all solving for the same scenario.
