Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?

Follow along here!

All three alliances have some great business class fares to Europe this fall, with flights on DeltaLufthansaAmerican, and Air France / KLM pricing out from $1735 round trip from New York to Frankfurt. Other great prices are also available to ZurichParisAmsterdam and more and from HoustonSeattle, and other parts of the country and on other carries including trips on Air Canada and United.

Many of these fares are available into winter. We stopped at the Christmas Markets in Frankfurt a couple of years ago and it was a lot of fun!

If you added the Delta Amex Offer ($160 back on $800 or more, both targeted and long since disappeared if you did not yet add it I’m sure), you could save another $160 on a Delta itinerary, bringing your net cost as low as $1575 round trip. That’s terrific for transatlantic business class.

We first saw that there were some great fares found via the First Class Flyer newsletter and then went straight to Google Flights to find the possibilities (See: How to find great business class fares with Google Flights.). Check your city to Europe using the methods found in that post and let us know what else you find in the comments!

Some examples:

New York to Frankfurt, October 25-30 from $1735:

Houston to Amsterdam $2075 Oct 30-Nov 7

Seattle to Paris from $2295, Oct 30-Nov 7

Bottom line

While this is surely shoulder season and the beginning of low season, these are still excellent prices to Europe on each of the major alliances, giving you plenty of options for where to credit all of the bonus miles earned on paid business class. Additionally, these flights are likely bookable via the Chase, Citi, and Amex travel portals, giving you the opportunity to leverage points towards paid business class fares. See wheretocredit.com to check out the earning potentials based on fare class (you can check fare class at ITA Matrix or sometimes with the carrier’s website).
