American Express has released a new Amex Offer today giving a $10 statement credit with a purchase of $25 or more in-restaurant at Carrabba’s. The offer is good through 5/31/16 and can be loaded via the American Express website or on twitter by tweeting #AmexCarrabbas.

Gift Cards
Gift cards purchased at Carrabba’s should work to trigger this deal. By purchasing $25 gift cards you could lock in a 40% savings. Currently these cards can be sold for up to 76% of their value.
Stacking Savings
AARP members (anyone can join) can save 15% off of their check at Outback, Carrabba’s and Bonefish and gift cards purchased will work at all of these brands. By using the AARP discount and paying with a gift card purchased at 40% off you can achieve a total savings of almost 50%
Example:
- Food: $60
- AARP Discount: – $9
- Total Check: $51
- Out of pocket: $31 ($15 for each $25 gift card plus $1)
- Savings: 48.3%

As a point of reference – I took advantage last time this deal was offered – and had no problems buying gift cards and getting the cash back. Coincidentally – I just used the last of those gift cards so this was perfect timing. Just re-upped for 15 different Amex cards in our family.
Which portal did you use? I can’t find cash back for Carraba’s on any of the major sites…thanks in advance for the info!
Will the AARP discount work on GC purchase? If so, why not just buy a $ 30 GC?
Out of pocket: $ 30 GC less 15% discount = $ $ 25.50 less $ 10 back with Amex = $ 15.50
Net discount = 48.33 %
No it doesn’t work on a gift card purchase in my experience.
