Chase Offers Has Ended. Here’s Why It Might Return

4

Chase recently announced that Chase Offers would be ending on March 31. The program worked in a similar way to Amex Offers – you loaded an offer to your card, made a purchase with that card which met the terms of the offer and you received a statement credit.

Chase Offers was only available on Chase’s Marriott and Slate credit cards, so it always seemed like they were testing out the concept. When they announced that there were only a few days left to enroll for the offers which all ended on March 31, it seemed like the program hadn’t been as successful as they’d wanted.

I took advantage of several Chase Offers – Whole Foods, eBags, Etsy and more – so I was sad to see it go. All hope’s not lost though, as there’s a brief update from Chase today.

Chase Offers Program Update

The Marriott and Slate landing pages have been updated today with a short message (bolding is mine):

As of April 1st, 2018, the current Chase Offers program has ended. Stay tuned for new and improved promotions from Chase Offers later this year!

That message certainly makes it sound like Chase Offers will be back, although it’ll likely be in a different format. What that’ll look like though is anyone’s guess.

It might mean the program will be available on all Chase cards (hopefully). It might return with dozens of offers to try to match Amex Offers (unlikely). Chase might offer bonus points / miles at certain retailers rather than cash back (possibly). Some Amex Offers give Membership Rewards rather than statement credits (e.g. Spend $75 at Boxed, get 2,000 Membership Rewards), so perhaps Chase will offer large chunks of Ultimate Rewards on future Chase Offers (I wish).

For now, there’s no way of knowing what the future holds for Chase Offers. At least this update gives us hope for the program, even if it doesn’t return in its past form.

Le Chase Offers est mort, vive le Chase Offers!
