Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve: Increased 75K offers available

21

Last week, we posted about in-branch welcome offers that would be available this week for Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) and Sapphire Reserve (CSR) cards.

Today, there are also increased online welcome offers available on both cards, each of which offers 75K Ultimate Rewards points after completing $4,000 in minimum spend.

This equals the in-branch offer for the CSR, but comes in 10K below what’s available at a Chase location for the CSP. That said, both are still 15K above the previous, publicly-available offer and there’s no need to leave the comfort of your couch to apply.

Quick Thoughts

Earning 75,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $4,000 of spend is an excellent offer, especially since both cards provide the ability to transfer to travel partners.

Do note that there’s currently an offer giving 85,000 Ultimate Rewards on the Sapphire Preferred when applying in a Chase branch. If you have any Chase locations near you, it might be worth the effort to apply via a banker in order to earn those 10,000 additional transferable points.

Currently, referral links go to the less-appealing 60K public offer. However, if that increases, a household referral would add another 10,000 points to the total haul, so if you’re in a 2-player household and already have a Sapphire Preferred or Reserve, it may be worth holding off for a bit to see whether or not this 75K offer eventually comes online.

Any info on when this offer will expire?

Tuna

I have a Sapphire authorized user card. Do I need to get rid of it to take advantage of this offer?

Lynn

No

As always thanks for your transparency and honesty in acknowledging the higher branch offer of 85K. I’m pretty sure you are the only blog that does this. I snagged the 85K offer today at the branch thanks to you. Keep up the great work and thank you for all that you do!

Madreblair

I just sent a message to Chase regarding this offer not coming up on my referral link, instead it shows the 60k . Why is that you can get the referral bonus and I can’t for my husband??

Dips

Did they reply? My P2 referral link also shows 60K. Will wait until tomorrow morning or will go to the branch and apply

Madreblair

no reply yet takes at least a day, just want Frequent Miler to answer how does he get a referral link that shows the 75k but I can’t.

Dips

FM has an affiliate link not referral link. also in branch offer is 75k for 4k spend in 3 months and additional 10k for 2K spend in 6 months. On the second thought maybe It is better to use a referral link from a p2 or just apply online for 75k. Additional 2K spend for 10k points doesn’t sound exciting.

ok thanks for the explanation

Lynn

I think we’ll see the referral link change within a week or 2, like last year. I’m waiting to refer, although referrals used to get 15k and now only get 10k.

Henry

Just apply with the referral link for 60k and then ask them to match the sign up bonus

P2 has CSP and old Freedom both 10+ years. I have AU for both. If I apply for my own CSP card do I keep the AU card? I was thinking of getting the Freedom Flex and the CSP. Which should I apply for first? Right now I only have an old Barclay Red Aviator and a new, since March, Amex Aspire. Thanks.

Lynn

Yes, you can keep the AU card and apply for your own card. I’d get the CSP first, because this offer doesn’t come up often.

[…] May 2, 2024: A new Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offer has started appearing online. Thanks to Frequent Miler for flagging […]

I applied for and received the Chase sapphire less than two weeks ago at 65K points . Would they honor the 75K if I called?

Morgan

Yes, I’ve read a lot of times they will adjust it. I would recommend talking to someone in a branch. Good luck!

Linda

Thanks

Yashwant

I recently got the AMEX Consumer Platinum. Should I still apply for these Chase cards. Trying to scratch my brain to come up with a very compelling reason to do so. Or would it better if my wife applies for this? So we have 2 premium cards in the household?

Lynn

I wouldn’t be without my chase cards. With the sapphire you can transfer to Hyatt, Southwest, United etc

Buzz

Question: I’m considering applying for the Ink Preferred ( I currently have Ink Cash Sapphire Reserve, Flex and Unlimited). I’d like to eventually ditch the Reserve prior to the annual fee next year.

I transfer all my points currently into the Reserve account. If I get the Preferred, can I transfer all of those points to the Preferred card and then cancel Reserve?

Down the road I would apply for the Sapphire Preferred but I want to do each step correctly so I don’t lose points

Dips

You can’t hold 2 Sapphire cards at the same time.
