Quick Thoughts
This is an interesting promotion, effectively giving 20-25% Costco Cash back on large items (unless you go well over $2K). It’s obviously most useful if you’re already on the lookout for some of the included items. It appears that the promotion stacks with current sale items and manufacturer discounts as well as normal Costco membership rewards. I can’t tell if there’s been any change in the pricing of the included items from before the promotion started, but they seem fairly in-line with what I would expect.
One nice feature is that it doesn’t require the purchases to be all at once, just during the promotional period, so there’s no rush to make a bunch of decisions immediately, outside of item availability becoming an issue…which it very likely could.
It’s easy to tell whether or not something is included in the promo, as there is a “Costco Shop Card Promotion Eligible” tag in the search results like this:
Although Costco is often among the cheapest retailers when it comes to large consumer goods like these, they’re not always. Before purchasing anything, it’s worth doing a quick search to see if the item can be found elsewhere at a better price (although factor in the additional Costco Cash earnings) and any delivery fees.
My wife and I have been casually on the lookout for a couple of things for the yard and for inside the house, so we’ll definitely peruse this to see if something fits our needs.

I too made two separate orders and Costco is not giving Costco shopping cash as it is of two different orders. They say it should be of single order. Can anyone help me out this?
silly stuff here, but it’s not directly obvious how we’re supposed to receive these. Do they turn up in the mail?
Was I supposed to file a form?
The website made it sound like it would turn up 2 weeks later.
NM… it’s in my email…
“One nice feature is that it doesn’t require the purchases to be all at once, just during the promotional period, so there’s no rush to make a bunch of decisions immediately”
I believed this piece of information from this article and lost out on my $200 shop card according to Costco customer service because I put my orders separately. Stupid me for trusting in a site just because it’s on the top Google results for this deal. Costco also for not having fleshed out details on their deal on their site such that I had to Google around for it. Freaking hell
Did you make both purchases during the promotional period? 5/5-5/8? I haven’t heard of anyone else having issues with this. I’d try calling and talking to a new rep, as there’s nothing in the terms of the deal that say what you were told, the published terms do specifically state that it can be more than one item and other folks have received the appropriate card even when the purchases were separate.
They were both made during the same day before 5/4 just as separate orders as we decided on what to purchase. I’ll try another rep but the fact the previous rep said they don’t have the terms of the deal available and I don’t have a screenshot or anything of it either doesn’t bode well.
The terms in the article above are a screenshot from the site, feel free to use that…it specifiies that it can be more than one item.
