Delta is running a flash sale through tomorrow for international travel. The email they sent out advertised round trip flights to New Zealand from 56,000 miles, but there are fares as low as 44,000 miles round trip which can drop to 37,400 miles if you have a Delta credit card.

Quick Thoughts
These Delta flash sales are always a little weird because they advertise a certain rate, but it’s often possible to go better than that.
For example, the email I received highlighted the opportunity to book round trip flights to Auckland from 56,000 SkyMiles.
That’s not entirely inaccurate because if you fly from the east coast, that’s how much it was costing on the searches I did. However, if you can originate from – or position to – somewhere like Los Angeles, the price drops even further to only 44,000 miles round trip.
That’s the price before accounting for the 15% discount available for those with an eligible Delta credit card. If you do have a Delta Gold, Platinum or Reserve card, that 44,000 SkyMiles price will drop to 37,400 miles.
Note that these lowest fares are for travel in basic economy. You’ll get a carry-on bag included but seat selection comes with a fee.
