Quick Thoughts
Until fairly recently, the Dosh app offered 3% cashback at Exxon and Mobil gas stations, but that was recently reduced to 1%. They’ve now started offering 3% cashback at four other gas stations – Chevron, Texaco, Flying J and Pilot.
The savings can be made even better by stacking one or two Amex Offers that are both due to expire at the end of December. One of those is a Chevron Amex Offer that gives 10% back on up to $250 of purchases. The other is an offer giving 500 Membership Rewards when spending $35+ at gas stations which can be used three times.
If you were fortunate enough to have both those targeted offers on the same card, the net cost of a $35 fill up at Chevron would be $30.45, plus you’d earn 500 Membership Rewards on top.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Dosh, it’s an app that offers cashback at certain stores when using credit or debit cards that you’ve linked to the app. Most of the offers are for in-store purchases, but they’re starting to roll out more online partners that can be stacked with cashback portals.

How quickly do gas purchases post to Dosh?

Btw, I just remembered that they changed the notifications recently. They used to send an email immediately, but a few weeks ago they seemed to change it so you’re notified a few days after the transaction.

Make it 23% and it’s the same price as my local Costco gas.
Around here, Costco is only 10-15 cents less than the stations nearby.
Oh wow. It’s aboit 80 cents cheaper her me than the cheapest gas station. Hawaii prices tho so it’s still $2.89
