Dosh has a new card-linked offer for Office Depot which is especially intriguing for those of us who’d previously had our ability to take advantage of their card-linked Office Depot offer nixed.
The Deal
- Get 10% cashback on purchases at Office Depot from the Dosh app when paying with a linked Visa card.
- If you’re new to Dosh, feel free to sign up using one of our referral links. We’ll earn $10 when you sign up, connect and verify your first card and make a purchase with a Dosh merchant. However, I’m not entirely sure what you’ll receive as a signup bonus. It used to be $5, then they reduced it to $1, but I’m not sure if it’s gone back up now or not.

Quick Thoughts
Dosh used to offer 2% cashback at Office Depot when paying with a linked card with a limit of $10 per day. Many people took advantage of that by linking their Ink Cash and/or Ink Plus cards to earn additional cashback when buying Visa or Mastercard gift cards at Office Depot during those promotions. However, Dosh ended up cottoning on to what was happening and clawed back some cashback earned while also removing the ability to earn cashback at Office Depot for anyone where they identified gift card purchases.
It’s therefore interesting that there’s this new offer in the Dosh app giving 10% cashback at Office Depot. On the one hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dosh ended up clawing back cashback earned through this offer where it’s easy for them to identify gift card purchases. However, the setup of the offer is identical to the Office Depot Chase Offer which hopefully means that Dosh will have minimal involvement with it.
Speaking of the Chase Offer, it should stack with that and so you’ll earn two sets of $11 cashback amounts – one from Dosh and one as a statement credit on your Chase card. If you have that Chase Offer on an Ink Cash and/or Ink Plus card, you’ll also earn 5x on the purchase, making it even more rewarding.
Unlike past Office Depot offers in the app, Dosh requires that you activate this offer, so be sure to tap the offer before making any purchases. To find it, scroll through the offers at the top of the app’s home page where it says ‘Visa – Activate These Offers’. Speaking of which, as that title suggests – this will only work when paying with a linked Visa card rather than a Mastercard, Amex or Discover card.

I bought some Amazon gcs yesterday. My dosh app now says that my purchase does not qualify for cash back.
Nevermind, it worked.
Wonder if we will see another $300 VGC/MCGC this month since we jist had one last week
I imagine we will – they usually have at least one of each every month.
I don’t see anything for Office Depot under my Dosh account. It just says currently no offers.
Do you see any card-linked offers at the top of the app where it says ‘Visa – Activate These Offers’?
Yes! I see it now. Unfortunately I had already spent $200 at Office Depot before activating the offer. I don’t know how quickly Dosh tracks purchases but it was about a 15 minute lag. After my purchase to when I activated the offer.
I doubt it’ll work, but maybe it will. There have been reports in the past that after linking a new card you needed to wait a few hours before using Dosh’s card-linked offers, but seeing as this is a slightly different setup it might still track.
btw, I thought I’d mentioned in the post about where the offer is located in the app but hadn’t, so I’ve added that now.
Be very careful of Dosh. I tried to cash out after I reached $500 and they locked my account. After significant back-and-forth they said that I had been buying large amounts of gift cards at office supply stores. It was true that around half of my earnings were from office supply stores and around 2/3 of that was gift cards but I thought that pulling this after I’d spent the money was wrong, particularly since lots of my earnings were from other sources. After more arguing, I lost the whole amount. Just a cautionary tale.
Me too. Dosh sucks.
