I’ve been adding things to our Cyber Monday Master List all day and just added this deal a few minutes ago but thought it might be worth a quick highlight of its own if for nothing else to highlight the type of oddball opportunity that always intrigued me from a reselling standpoint. Urban Outfitters (stay with me here) is offering a deal for Cyber Monday that is supposed to take 25% off your entire cart. However, in what may be a glitch, when you add full-priced items the cart is taking 25% off the full price and then an additional 25% off of that. What makes that even more interesting to me is that Urban Outfitters carries some oddball items you might not expect, so this could possibly be a very good deal, and it gets better when stacked with 15% cash back / 15x Membership Rewards points from Rakuten.com. I think there are probably items to be found that could be resold at a small profit, making the Rakuten rewards icing on the cake (though YMMV and you’ll have to do your own research).
The Deal
- Stacking discounts at Urban Outfitters are taking about 44% off of full priced items stocked directly by Urban Outfitters
- Direct link to UO site
Quick Thoughts
Urban Outfitters doesn’t just sell trendy clothes. For example, they sell the Audio-Technica ATH-M50XBT Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones that are pictured above.
That same pair is currently $160 at Amazon and has been a popular deal on Slickdeals several times when on sale for $130.
Right now, the Urban Outfitters site is doubling down on discounts to bring the price down from $199.99 to $111. Throw in 15% cash back and you’re under a hundred bucks net.
I don’t know as though resellers will find enough room there, but maybe.
I shouldn’t be surprised that Urban Outfitters is equipped with vlogging hardware like phone stands, or a ring light for your phone or camera. However, $67.50 in the cart for a full-sized ring light with the stand is an excellent price (no idea on the quality of course). Stack the 15% or 15x back and this is probably worth a shot if you’re just starting to film YouTube videos and want to give it a try without much investment.
There are also some instant cameras, some other audio equipment, and lots of random stuff. The few models of Ray-Bans they have left and some other sunglasses and accessories also work.
To save you some time, stuff labeled as “UO Markt” means marketplace items — those items don’t work.
This isn’t necessarily the star of Cyber Monday, but there could be some interesting stuff that I wouldn’t have expected that looks like a pretty good deal before considering portal rewards (and better yet afterwards). Happy hunting for a deal.
H/T: Slickdeals
Looks like they fixed it some time last night, wonder if they will honor those orders that got the extra discount
