If you have any of the Chase United Visa cards, you can earn 1,000 free and easy United MileagePlus miles by downloading/updating the United MileagePlus X app and enrolling in Visa Rewards with your Chase United Visa. Note that this should be open to all United cardholders. I only have the fee-free Chase United MileagePlus card (not available for applications, only as a downgrade from the United MileagePlus Explorer card). I was able to successfully enroll for an easy 1K United miles (that posted immediately), no purchase necessary.

Quick Thoughts
This is a great promo for quick and easy miles. If you have any of the Chase United Visa cards, this should work. As noted at the top, my Chase United card is the fee-free version and the app automatically recognized me as a cardholder and came up with my information, so I expect this will work for MileagePlus Explorer and MileagePlus Club cardholders as well.
Of note: I had an older version of the MileagePlus X app on my phone. I didn’t get a push notification forcing me to update and therefore didn’t immediately see any way to enroll in the promo. I proactively went to the Google Play store and saw that an update was available. Once I updated and logged in to the MileagePlus X app, I saw the promotion right away:
That took me to an enrollment page where I only had to click an “Enroll Now” button (I didn’t even have to enter my MileagePlus credit card number) and it congratulated me on enrolling with my card.
The terms state that it will take up to 5 business days for the 1K bonus miles to post, but in my case the miles posted right away.
While a thousand MileagePlus miles isn’t going to get you anywhere in first class on its own, I’m always happy to pick up an extra thousand miles — that’s a thousand less that I need to transfer to United, etc. If you have a Chase United card, this is worth the 2-3 minutes you’ll spend.

Got it. Points posted instantly. Thanks for the heads up.
What is the fee free united card you mentioned? Travel bank or you downgraded to something like this?
Not the travel bank card. It’s a no fee Chase United Mileage Plus card. It’s only available for a downgrade from the Mileage Plus Explorer. It earns 1 mile for every $2 spent, so it’s not a card you would ever use. I only downgraded to keep access to the expanded saver availability and maintain the account history.
Add the card to your spouse’s MileagePlus payments and then they can also get the 1000 miles. My wife isn’t even an AU for my card and I added the card to her account (I had already done mine), downloaded the app, linked it to her MileagePlus account, and the offer was there.
Extended expiration of my UA miles too! Great, Thanks!
i’m guessing only primary card can get bonus and not authorized users?
I would guess the same since Chase AU cards usually have the same account number as the primary.
I just updated both my app and my husband’s app. He is an AU on my card. I even had to add his AU card to his profile via laptop (not via the app) and we both received 1000 points.
Thank you 🙂
some bloggers stated that if you used mpx with UA chase card in the past you wont get the offer…well i have used them in the past and was targeted for this offer
I’ve used mine with MPX before and this worked for me. I don’t see anything on the promotion page indicating that it’s targeted. I believe that the United Visa Rewards is a new separate thing within the MPX app (it’s card-linked offers similar to Dosh, etc). So I would think everyone would be eligible based on it being a new program (I think). But if someone is unable to enroll, please comment so I can update.
