(EXPIRED) Ebates: Earn 15-20% At Hundreds Of Stores (20% Appears To Be Targeted)

Ebates is celebrating its 20th birthday by offering 15% or more cashback at hundreds of stores. It looks like this is a targeted offer as some Ebates members are seeing rates of 20%, while others are only seeing 15% rates.

Quick Thoughts

Ebates had been advertising that they’d be offering 20% cashback at a wide range of stores given that they’re celebrating their 20th birthday. That doesn’t seem to be the case for all members though, as some people (including myself) seem to have only been targeted for a 15% rate, with luckier members being targeted for 20%. (Have some of us been Bonvoyed Rakutened?)

While it’s disappointing for those of us seeing the lower rate, 15% is still an excellent rate at many of these stores, especially if you have a new Ebates account that’s earning 15x Membership Rewards rather than “just” 15% cashback.

Here are some of the stores earning at least 15% cashback:

• Macy’s
• JCPenney
• Dell
• Bloomingdale’s
• Ulta Beauty
• Saks Fifth Avenue
• Walgreens
• Coach
• Lane Bryant
• Overstock

From a travel perspective, there isn’t anything particularly notable. Given that Ebates sometimes offers 10% for Marriott or IHG, I’d been hoping we’d see a 20% (or 15%) rate for one or both of those, but that’s sadly not the case right now.

While most of the stores with an increased rate are at 15%, there are some stores with an even higher rate, such as:

• 1-800 Flowers – 30%
• NordVPN – 30%
• Magazines.com – 45%
• FTD Flowers – 30%

Jen from Deals We Like appears to be one of the lucky people who’s been targeted for the 20% rate. She’s seeing the 20% cashback for 18 stores including:

• Macy’s
• Saks Fifth Avenue
• Walgreens
• Dell
• Bloomingdale’s

Interestingly, members who’ve been targeted for 20% might be seeing lower rates elsewhere. For example, they’re only being offered 20% at 1-800 Flowers rather than the 30% rate that we 15% members are seeing.

If you’re only seeing a 15% rate, make sure you’re logged in to your account as a comment on the DoC post suggests that might affect the rate you see.

These rates are seemingly only available until May 6. It’d be worth keeping an eye on rates offered by Ebates throughout the week though in case they decide to offer additional promotions throughout their birthday week.
