It’s the first of the month, so a new batch of Air France/KLM Flying Blue Promo Rewards are out today. As is usually the case, you can save 25% on economy awards between select US cities and Europe; this month there are six eligible North American cities, with dates travel being valid through the end of the year.

One of the helpful things about the selection of cities eligible for Flying Blue Promo Rewards each month tend to span the US and this latest batch is no exception. On the east coast you’ve got Atlanta, on the west coast you’ve got Portland and in between you’ve got Detroit, Toronto, Dallas and Austin. That makes it easier for people to be able to take a positioning flight to whichever of those airports is closest to them.
Economy awards between the US and Europe usually cost 25,000 miles one way with Flying Blue, so the 25% discount drops it to 18,750 miles. Availability tends to be good, but that partially depends on your origin and destination city. For Atlanta to Paris in September it’s plentiful…
…while Portland to Dublin that same month is much more sparse (it’s better in October).

Taxes and fees tend to be $100-$135 one way from the US to Europe. Taxes on the return leg will usually be more, although the exact amount will vary depending on which country you’re flying back from.
