If you’re planning an upcoming visit to Las Vegas and have an Amex Platinum card, Nick spotted the other day that there’s a new addition to the properties bookable through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) – Fontainebleau.
This could be of particular interest for those who are looking to take advantage of Fontainebleau’s status match offer by June 2. Do note though that you don’t have to actually stay at the property in order to status match to their casino loyalty program, but I imagine there’ll be many people curious about what this new property is like.
Depending on when you’ll be booking a stay, rates could be very good if taking into account the $200 Amex Platinum FHR credit. For example, if you book a stay in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, rooms can be had for $240 before taxes and fees, although that gets bumped up to $323.13 with taxes and fees. As a reminder, FHR bookings get complimentary breakfast for two, guaranteed 4pm checkout, a room upgrade upon arrival if available and a $100 property credit which, at this property, can be used for food and beverage.
That rate is still potentially very high based on other options available in Las Vegas via FHR. For example, on the same date I searched for you could book Wynn Las Vegas for $220 before taxes and fees (while also using that stay to count towards their own status match), with The Palazzo at The Venetian being bookable for only $132 before taxes and fees.
Initial reviews for Fontainebleau were far from stellar, but it seems like they might’ve gotten some of those kinks ironed out in recent weeks/months.

Gold or higher get resort fees waived. Do you know if amex bookings qualify?
I’d assume they would; FHR bookings tend to work differently to bookings through other OTAs.
Thx!
yea, rate is still high; would book a night stay at Palazzo & walk to FB to visit instead
