Quick Thoughts
This is an easy win because it only took me a few minutes to earn a net 2,900 Wyndham Rewards points. After downloading the Bakkt app it only took a couple of minutes to register and then link my Wyndham account.
The 1,000 bonus points from that first step showed up straight away. I later redeemed 100 of those points for $0.35, at which point the 2,000 bonus points from the second step showed up.
Earning 2,900 net points + $0.35 for a few minutes of work was worth it to me even though I don’t anticipate using the Bakkt app again in the future.

FYI landing page was updated and looks like deal is going to be extended again, but now up to 3500 points (net 3400 after converting 100). New deal expires March 31 per the landing page in the link above
Awesome, thanks for the heads up.
Thanks Stephen. Still worked for me in creating a new WR account and Bakkt account and converting to get the 2900 WR pts, as of 3PM PST.
Nice!! Thanks – this was so easy 🙂
Hey Stephen. Got the 1000 Wyndham points immediately. Just wondering if you keep a separate (and small balanced) checking account for things like this? Hesitant to give my “real” BOA account and was wondering how you handle this? Thanks!
I don’t think I actually connected my checking account in the end seeing as it was only for $0.35.
I must be missing something. How did you fund the 35 cents?
I didn’t have to pay $0.35. To earn the additional 2,000 points, you have to redeem Wyndham Rewards points in the app. Redeeming 100 points is the minimum amount you can redeem and doing that gets you $0.35 rather than having to pay $0.35. I therefore have $0.35 cash sitting in the Bakkt app.
Thanks–easily done in 5 min. Big ? is, what can I do with 2900 Wyndham points? i had 0 points to begin with and now have 2900. I am a Diamond Member (thanks to you all!). Seems like I’d need to add more points to be able to utilize it for anything.
I think their Go Fast rewards (effectively Cash + Points) require 3,000 points plus a cash copay, so you’re only 100 points from being able to do something potentially useful for one night. Free night awards start at 7,500 points, with 15,000 and 30,000 points being their other award thresholds.
You can also use Wyndham Rewards points to book Vacasa properties – those cost 15,000 points per bedroom per night. It’s possible to get fantastic value from those bookings, especially in properties where there’s only one official bedroom but multiple beds (e.g. due to a mezzanine floor with a bed that’s not an official bedroom) – see Nick’s post and other ones he links to in that for more details https://frequentmiler.com/vacasa-success-entire-cabin-booked-for-15k-wyndham-points-per-night-transferred-from-capital-one/
Wyndham is now a transfer partner of Citi ThankYou and Capital One, so if you have points with either of those transferable currencies, that’ll be a good way to top up your balance. Capital One is currently offering a 20% transfer bonus, so that can stretch your points even further.
Easy to add more points by earning with the Wyndham earner credit cards or transfer from Capital One Venture cards. Redeem for Vacasa or Viva all-inclusive or Wydham hotel nights.
Wow! That was easy. Thx for the tip.
seriously easy, plus immediately posted to my wyndham acct
Guessing this is a one time deal? Did this in Dec 21.
Yep, this is the same deal – it’s just been extended.
Deal has been renewed to Mar 22
Trying to take advantage last minute but not succeeding. Was able to sign up but when trying to make the 100 conversion receiving “Transaction Denied”, anyone had similar issue and found a solution?
Thanks!
Ever have any luck? I’m getting that error message now as well.
They asked me for a bunch of documents and it was the last day of the promotion, so I just gave up.
At first I couldn’t get past the verify challenge, but by disconnecting from the wifi, I was finally able to create an account. I was easily able to link my Wyndham account and got my 1000. But soon after, my account was inexplicably locked. So I had to upload photos of my ID and a selfie. Now I have to wait 5-7 business days to do step two. I understand this is a financial institution, so they need to be careful. And I was glad to get some free Wyndham points. Still, turned out to be more effort than I was expecting. Of course.
I had the same issue, except mine got locked before I could even register for the Wyndham promo. Frustrating.

I can’t figure out how to redeem 100 points. It asks for a 16 digit cash code… How did others do this?
Once you’ve linked your Wyndham account, go to the Home screen, tap ‘Rewards’ (between ‘Crypto’ and ‘Gift Cards’), then tap Wyndham Rewards. On the next screen tap ‘Convert’ at the top and enter ‘100’.
Thanks Stephen!!
thx for the insight, i nearly bought a gift card thinking that was the ‘conversion’
I was locked out for security reasons immediately after providing a password. The flow went:
Phone, MFA, enter name/address, provide user name, provide password. Maybe because I used a Google Voice. Oh well.
Tricky app to navigate. You have to go into your linked Wyndahm account area and there is a “covert” button. All the other convert buttons don’t work.
That was easy-Now I need to research the Wyndham program to see how useful it might be to me.
I have download Bakkt 5 weeks ago for Choice points. 1k choice points did not post yet. Today I have added Wyndham and got 3k in minutes. Interesting if you can do it from the same app for different Wyndham accounts.
I can’t sign up for the Bakkt app – have tried different phone numbers but I get a weird CAPTCHA challenge and then an error message reading “Arkose verify failure”. I think this must have happened a while ago too because I already had bakkt downloaded on my phone.
Try to disconnect from your wifi and to use only cell phone network.
I did this last night. The 1k points appeared instantly, the 2k took a few minutes but when I check this morning they were in the account.
Completed my first Vacasa stay this weekend on Wyndham points. Took the family to a ski resort, had a 1br cabin with private hot tub for 2 nights for 27k total. It was sick. Have 2 more ski weekends lined up this winter through vacasa.
Hi Tom. Please share the vacasa cabins you booked. I’m always looking for a great deal. Thanks again.
I don’t know what I just signed up for but it worked. Took me like 5 minutes.
Nice! Worked great to add on to 2000 Wyndham points I got from a previous promotion. I will sacrifice the .35 rather than giving Bakkt my banking info.
You do not have to give them your banking info. You can convert the 100 points to 35c and leave that 35c in bakkt. In fact that’s what happens anyway even if you do give them your bank info because apparently you need $10 to cash out.
That’s what I meant. I will just abandon the .35 and leave it in Bakkt. I didn’t realize you needed $10 to cash out, so it’s a non-issue anyway.
