Through July 6, 2016 American Express has increased the public bonus offer on their Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card to 50K miles after $2K in purchases + a $50 statement credit after making a Delta purchase within the first three months. Now it seems there is a way to get an even better offer.

The Better Offer

Earn a $100 statement credit and 50,000 bonus miles after spending $2,000 and making a $100 Delta purchase within the first three months. ($50 better than the public offer.)

How to Get the $100 Statement Credit Offer

To get the $100 statement credit offer, simply go to Delta.com and search for a flight. After selecting your flight, you will see an ad for this offer before reaching the payment screen. (Screenshot above.)

I’m surprised that you have not commented on the Am Ex Gold Delta card that was targeted and came out about Nov 14, 2017 offering 75,000 SkyMiles, 50k after a 2k spending first 3 months and another 25k after another 1kspend in another 3 months and a $50 statement credit after the first spend on the card. There appears to be no prohibition to getting the bonus if you previously had an Am Ex Delta card. I rad all the rules and called customer service and the CSR agreed there was no prohibitory language in the POID numbered targeted offer. There is a business Gold card too which I didn’t apply for. the offer had my SkyMiles account number and my name so both Am Ex and Delta were aware I had previously had the bonus on the Gold and Platinum cards, accounts long closed by me.I was approved immediately and also received a letter approving my account saying the card is in the mail. Doctor of Credit wrote about this.

I just got approved for the card a few seconds ago. My question is do you have to actually spend 100 or do you simply have to make a single purchase on delta? The wording says when you make a purchase.

You can refer a spouse or friend to the 50,000 plus $50 offer for 10,000 bonus points (personal version, business seems to be 5,000 bonus). So keep that in mind if you are chasing the extra $50.
