Quick Thoughts
These types of offers usually have wording stating that it’s only valid for properties in the US and US-based properties. That wording isn’t included here, although they might have forgotten to include that wording rather than this offer being valid worldwide.
With a maximum statement credit of $40, you’ll max this out when spending $400. Note that you have to spend at least $150 for your stay (which can include taxes and room charges) in order to trigger the offer.
I received this offer on my Chase Ink Plus card. There have been some other Chase Offers specifically targeted at business cards (e.g. the recent Staples offer), so I’m not sure if this’ll be available on personal cards or not.
Bank of America and some other banks use the same backend that Chase Offers runs on, so you might find this offer on cards with other banks too.

Any data points as to whether an advance purchase rate for a stay after the offer expires counts as “directly with the merchant” and would trigger the credit?
I’m not sure I’m afraid. I know it doesn’t work with Amex Offers, so I’d guess it wouldn’t with Chase Offers, but I’m not certain. Are you able to book a refundable rate, then call the hotel and ask them to take payment early? If so, that should work.
Thanks, Stephen.
