World of Hyatt las launched a new promotion where you can earn double points on international stays during Fall 2024. You need to register before your first stay in order for it to qualify and you only get double points starting with your second stay.
While the promo is advertised as being good towards stays in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, it specifically excludes Mr & Mrs Smith properties. Since those form much of Hyatt’s footprint in Europe, the promo only covers about 320 hotels in total.
The Deal
- World of Hyatt is offering double points after your second stay in Europe, Africa, the Middle East & Asia Pacific between October 7 and December 20, 2024 when you
- You must register before your first stay
Key Terms
- Register for the promotion between September 24 01:00 GMT+8 and November 4, 2024, 23:59 GMT to participate.
- Only Eligible Stays that begin after registration and are completed between October 7, 2024 and December 20, 2024 (“Promotion Period”) will count towards this promotion. All Eligible Stays must be completed by December 20, 2024 in order for them to count in this promotion.
- Beginning on your second Eligible Stay after registration and during the Promotion Period, you will receive double points per Eligible Stay at participating Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific excluding Greater China.
- Mr & Mrs Smith hotels are not participating in this promotion.
- A maximum of 20,000 Bonus Points may be earned under this promotion.
- All points awarded under this promotion are Bonus Points. Only base points are doubled.
- For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Stay” is defined as any stay where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award.
Quick Thoughts
It always makes sense to register for promotions like these just in case you end up being able to take advantage, but this will likely be of limited use to most readers. You only begin earning double points on your second stay and then only on stays outside the Americas. It’s also a bummer that Mr & Mrs Smith isn’t included, given how much of Hyatt’s international footprint it represents.
Double base points probably won’t most folks to shift any plans to Hyatt, but it can’t hurt to toss your World of Hyatt number just in case you end up with an unexpectedly expensive stay during the promo window.

Why is that? It’s in the terms of the promo.
I get that Hyatt analytics have improved to the point where they can specifically target where they want to incentivize business, but man, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one that worked for me. I miss the days of 18,000 points for a three day stay in DC.
