Update 1/30/21: This offer has been extended again through February 3, 2021.
Update 1/16/21: This offer has been extended through January 24, 2021 if you hadn’t used it yet.
Update: Based on comments below, there are 5% and 15% versions of this offer too.
American Express isn’t the only one offering savings at some of IHG’s brands right now. There’s a new – targeted – Chase Offer giving a 5%, 10% or 15% statement credit when spending $100+ at all of IHG’s brands.
- Get one of the following percentages back when spending $100+ at IHG Hotels & Resorts with a targeted Chase Offer:
January 11 24February 3, 2021.
- Maximum $43 back (some 10% offers)
- Maximum $44 back (some 10% & 15% offers)
- Maximum $66 back (some 15% offers)
- Payment must be made directly with the merchant.
- Offer valid at all IHG brands.
- Complete payment for your stay must be made by January 11, 2021.
- Offer valid one time only.
I initially thought this might only be targeted at Chase IHG credit cards as it was seemingly only on our IHG Premier cards, but then I noticed it was on my wife’s Chase Sapphire Reserve card as well.
If you’ll be staying at a Crowne Plaza, you’d do better paying with an American Express card with the new Crowne Plaza Amex Offer loaded to it provided you’re targeted for that offer.
What’s great about this offer though is that it’s valid at all of IHG’s brands provided you spend at least $100. There’s no specification that it’s only valid in the US, so it’s presumably good on IHG stays worldwide.
With a limit of $43 back as a statement credit for the 10% offer, you’ll max this out when spending $430. The 15% offer has a limit of $66 back which means that’s good on up to $440 of spend.
If you’ll be staying at an IHG brand more than once before this offer expires and your first stay isn’t the most expensive, you’d be better off paying for that first stay with a different card as this Chase Offer is only good on one transaction. Having said that, you can load this offer to multiple cards if you’re targeted, unlike with Amex Offers where you can only load a statement credit Amex Offer to one of your cards.
