The latest IHG PointBreaks list has gone live for bookings through May 31, 2019. As has been the case since last year, hotels are now split into three levels: 5K per night, 10K per night, or 15K per night. There are very few 5K options this time around (only 1 in the United States), but it’s worth taking a look in case any properties line up with your travel plans this spring.

Quick Thoughts
The IHG PointBreaks list is not the deal it once was since hotels are now spread across three levels (5K / 10K / 15K points per night). That said, since points can often be purchased for around half a cent each, that means you can often buy the points to effectively pay $25 / $50 / $75 per night. While that’s not a deal in all instances, it is at least a decent discount on some properties.
Furthermore, those with the newer IHG Rewards Club Premier card that debuted last year get the 4th night free on award bookings, dropping the net cost to 3,750 / 7,500 / 11,250 points per night for 4-night stays. Alternatively (or additionally), those with the classic $49 version of the IHG credit card get 10% of the points back on redemptions — so either or both benefits could sweeten the deal some.
There are a few Intercontinental properties on the list this time around. At the 10K level, there are IC properties in Mexico and El Salvador. At the 15K level, you can find the Intercontinental Minneapolis airport, one in Thailand, or the Intercontinental Sofia in Sofia, Bulgaria. That last hotel was formerly a Radisson Blu and became an IC last year.
There are also a handful of Hotel Indigo properties and a couple of Crowne Plazas in addition to the more standard Holiday Inn / Holiday Inn Express offerings.
Overall, I didn’t see anything particularly exciting on the list, but feel free to share any personal recommendations in the comments. Remember that you are limited to two PointBreaks reservations per hotel, so you can not book a bunch of 1-night reservations speculatively. Also keep in mind that the most desirable properties tend to go quickly, so you’ll want to book sooner rather than later if something catches your eye.
