IHG One Rewards has launched a new promotion offering triple points on stays from March through May. Unfortunately it’s only valid on four of their new brands rather than every brand.

Key Terms
- To participate in the “3X Unlimited” Promotion (the “Promotion”), an individual must have an active, valid IHG One Rewards member account, must be a resident of US or Mexico, and must register for the Promotion. Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting February 21, 2024 through February 29, 2024 (the “Pre-Registration Period”).
- Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning March 1, 2024 and ending on May 31, 2024 (the “Promotion Period”). Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period. A member can only register once. By registering for the Promotion, a member is accepting these Terms & Conditions.
- After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn bonus points on qualifying room nights during the Promotion Period at avid, Atwell, EVEN and/or Garner hotels located in the US & Mexico. This offer is only available for the listed brands above.
- To be a qualifying room night under the Promotion, the room night must fall within the Promotion Period and must be part of a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay. As stated, the “Promotion Period” is from March 1, 2024 through May 31, 2024. Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion also are not included.
- For purposes of this Promotion, a “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night.
- Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for purposes of this Promotion.
- Bookings made through on-line travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com also do not qualify under this Promotion. (For additional details on Qualifying Rates, please see the full IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions.)
- If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a qualifying room night under the Promotion.
Quick Thoughts
It’s been a while since IHG ran a triple points promo, so I was initially excited when I saw this new offer, but became less enthused after realizing that it’s only valid at EVEN, Avid, Garner and Atwell Suites. Although these are four of their newest brands, anecdotally I’ve started noticing these brands appearing in search results more frequently when I’ve been looking at booking stays, particularly their Avid brand. In fact, I have a reservation for one of their Avid properties during the promotion period, but won’t earn any bonus points as it’s an award stay rather than paid stay with a room rate of $30+.
This promotion will stack with the targeted promos IHG sent out recently which has the potential for making for a rewarding stay. Triple points from this new offer means you’ll earn 30 points per dollar on top of bonus points from that other targeted promo. If you have status, that’ll earn you additional bonus points, while paying with an IHG credit card will earn you an extra 5x or 10x bonus points depending on which IHG card you have.
