In the excitement disappointment over the new Amex Platinum card benefits, one new key benefit has slipped in with little fanfare: an improvement in the Amex Platinum Priority Pass offering.
Priority Pass covers a network of airport lounges around the world — currently more than 1,000 lounges in 500 cities across 130 countries. Many of the lounges in the network are independent, but some airline-specific lounges accept Priority Pass (like Alaska Boardroom locations and the Virgin America Loft at LAX).  This can be very convenient when traveling domestically or in international economy class, where you may not otherwise have lounge access.  Most Priority Pass lounges provide free food and drinks and wi-fi as well as a comfortable place to relax.  Some locations even have showers — handy to freshen up in between long flights.
Previously, the Priority Pass membership that came with the Amex Platinum was of limited use. While it covered the cardholder for free lounge entry, any guests were billed to your credit card at $27 per person per visit.
However, Will at Doctor of Credit is reporting that he contacted Amex and found that as of February 21st, he has been able to bring two guests into Priority Pass lounges for free. Several other of his readers were also able to confirm that their memberships already include two guests. Â View from the Wing reports that the new benefit rolls out March 30th, but I would suggest checking with Priority Pass to see if the benefit has already been extended to your card. Â Either way, this is a major improvement in the lounge access benefit that brings it on par with the Priority Pass memberships offered by other premium cards.

[…] Improved priority pass rolling out with Amex Platinum […]
The big problem with PP is you often won’t be allowed in because they are TOO crowded. Bogus BS…
Called Priority Pass this morning. No wait time at all; got a live phone rep immediately. Asked about three of my Priority Pass accounts. Was told the same info about my Citi Prestige-based account as my Amex Business Platinum account — two free guests per visit.
Any suggestions on the best way to contact Priority Pass to ask about that enhanced access?
If you call the 800 number, you’ll be on hold until you die.
Will you have to be traveling on Delta to use the Delta Lounge?
Yes
yes i really hope all these penniless people will stop using amex plat and use csr… chase will realise they made a big mistake. and amex will retain all the good customers and discard the penniless peons gaming the amex plat.
good riddance to penniless peons. amex plat will be exclusive and premium again. i hope amex can increase annual fees to $950 per annum. really hope so.
Don’t you have a country to run?
bannon used “penniless” once yesterday.
rump has to show him who’s the boss! THREE TIMES!!!
I think CSR offers unlimited PPS access…. so what’s the point.
this. they better add same for delta lounges if they want any hope of competing.
I was able to take 1 + 3 guests using Prestige Priority Pass without any extra charge @ IAD Air France lounge
