There are slightly increased offers available on each of the Amex Hilton Consumer credit cards. New public offers for the Amex Hilton Honors credit card, the Amex Hilton Honors Surpass credit card, and the Amex Hilton Aspire credit card add 10,000 points to the previous best offers. That may not be enough to move the needle, but it’s worth knowing about these increased offers if you had it in mind to apply for one of these cards.

Quick Thoughts
The previous offers for each of these cards were about the same, but when logged into wifi at a Hilton property, Stephen encountered a link to these offers that add an additional 10,000 points over the offers that we had listed for these cards previously.
Given that we value Hilton points around half a cent per point, the additional bonus here adds about $50 worth of value to the welcome offer on each card. That’s not enough to compel one to apply, but it beats the offer you might otherwise see by about $50. That’s not nothing.
If you’re playing in two player mode, you won’t be able to get these offers to populate. In other words, if you want to refer your “Player 2” to a new Amex Hilton card, the offer you’ll see will be for 10K fewer points. However, the referral bonus that P1 can earn for referring P-2 (or vice versa) is worth more than the 10,000 Hilton point premium here. Therefore, if your plan was to earn referral points (and particularly if you can leverage the current “+10 at restaurants” promotion), you’ll still want to stick with that over this offer.
Each of these offers are quite good, though not the best that we’ve ever seen. We don’t typically see an increase on the Aspire card though we have seen offers for the other cards that have included a free night certificate or two.
Overall, I suspect that either you are already interested in a Hilton Card and this gives you a little bit of an added incentive to go ahead and make the leap or it otherwise probably isn’t consequential. Still, with the expected additions of SLH and Autocamp this year I know some readers are probably more interested in Hilton points now than they were a few months ago.
The offer right after the Aspire refresh was 180k points after $6000 spend, ended 1/17, then after a week a 175k / $6000, ended last week, now 160k / $6000. I guess we’ll just get back to the general 150k / $6000 offer after this until the next refresh.
I got some offers with a statement credit when doing a hotel search.
But it does come with lifetime language and pop-up jail.
Is there AMEX family rule for Hilton CCs? If yes, would you go for the no AF CC first and then work your way up to the more premium CCs?
I think there isn’t one yet. If you’re concerned about it, I would work from bottom to top with the HH cards.
Thank you Jon. I’ve had all the HH CCs before, but now I’m only using the Surpass CC, but I was thinking about the strategy I would recommend to my parents and wife who haven’t had any HH CCs.
I would still start off from the bottom then go to the top of the HH cards in that case.
I think the only reason why I would deviate from that is either that there is some unique sub offered on a particular Hilton card (like 175,000 points on a Surpass and 1 free night certificate for example) or if I desperately needed diamond status for some reason like I wanted free breakfast/room upgrade on a 5 day trip to the Maldives so I would pick up an Aspire.
Yes, I agree with your thought process.
I also do not see the + free night offers. I must be doing something wrong here. Your thoughts? Is there a trick for the + free night?
There are not free night offers on any of the cards other than the Aspire card. The Aspire card always comes with a free night certificate each year, but what separates it from other cards that offer an annual free night certificate is that the Aspire card offers that free night in the first year, starting 8 to 12 weeks after approval.
If upgrading the NF hilton card to the aspire, does it also take 8-12 weeks to get the FNC?
Nick, I think the way the offer is written up above is confusing. It appears like it is saying the SUB for the Aspire is 160K, PLUS a FNC, when the FNC is just a benefit of the card, not part of the SUB.
So are we saying, the only thing that is better is 10k points extra? The FNC was always in the card benefits from year 0?
Yes, Aspire, as part of benefits, not SUB, comes with a FNC. First FNC is deposited into your account 6-8 weeks after approval. You then get another one after each annual renewal.
“Free Night Reward‡Enjoy one Free Night Reward with your new Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card and every year after renewal.”
Ok thanks. Not so special than, probably focus on getting the Marriott brilliant card for 185 elevated sub. Need to pull the trigger on a new card by end of this month.
The first paragraph of the post and the first couple of paragraphs under “Quick Thoughts” all make a point to note that the only difference is the 10K extra points, worth about $50.
I’m planning on canceling my Aspire card when the fee is due in a few months. I’m thinking I should apply for the no-fee Hilton card first for the bonus rather than downgrade the Aspire, unless there is something wrong with this plan.
When lick on the apply button for the aspire card, I don’t see anywhere on Amex apply the + free night certificate? Is this the same as the annual free night certificate?
The Aspire card always comes with a free night certificate starting in the first year. Yes, that’s the annual free night certificate. We list it with the rest of the first year benefits because it is unique in the hotel credit card space in offering a free night certificate in the first year – other hotel credit cards that feature an annual free night certificate make you wait until after first anniversary, but this one you get along with all of the other first year benefits. That’s a huge part of the first year value and we used to frequently find that people didn’t know that it came with that free night certificate in year one, so we’ve been listing that as part of the introductory first-year benefits / welcome bonus for the last couple of years now.
Thank you Sir.
So it’s basically year 0 you get the FNC, normally it’s year 1 correct? It is a good deal!
Any good offers to upgrade a NF Hilton card to an aspire? Or NLL offers for the aspire? I had it 4 ya but downgraded a year later. I already had a NF Hilton card so now I have 2 of them. Have some Hilton stays coming up and so want the Diamond status for them. I also have the Amex business Hilton but will likely cancel given the recent negative changes
