Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
If you’ve ever wondered whether you should be focusing on miles or cash back, I have a simple answer: both. In this Frequent Miler week in review, we’ll cover that, Google Fi, and more. Read on for our weekly recap.
My Google Fi Experience So Far
Greg recently wrote about international service options and settled on trying out Google Fi. In this post, he compares the service to his current service and talks about his next steps based on the experience. I continue to be curious about his outcomes. As Google Fi mostly runs on T-Mobile in the US, and I’m currently happy with T-Mobile service, I’m curious as to how this works out comparatively. So far, pretty interesting..
Are cash back cards the new airline cards?
Some people focus on miles, and others on cash back. In fact, cash back is often seen as an alternative to earning miles. But with the prevalence of mileage sales these days, I’d argue that cash back is in some instances the best way to earn miles — assuming you turn that cash into miles, anyway. I think too many people ignore easy opportunities to stack a couple percent more back — opportunities that could easily translate into more miles.
Are Delta’s new routes the key to wide open business class awards?
After the recent wide-open availability of flat-bed Delta business class seen using partner miles, Greg postulated that perhaps the key to business class availability is Delta’s new routes. In this post, he compares business class availability on different routes, including one I hadn’t considered for transportation back from Japan next year — and thereafter booked thanks to this post.
Why Samsung Pay is awesome & how anyone can use it
Greg sent me an unexpected and awesome surprise last week: a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch, and I’ve been having a blast trying it out. This week, I used it as payment when checking in at a hotel, bought some snacks at the airport, and even paid for charity raffle tickets at the Chicago Seminars, I’m booked — and it’s possible that you could be, too…as long as you have an Android phone.
The amazing CNB Crystal Visa Infinite Card. A deep dive.
The Crystal Visa infinite is an awesome card for those who qualify. Since many people would not qualify, it’s one that doesn’t get a lot of air time. But for those who can meet the bank’s requirements, this one is without a doubt worth your time and spend. See this post for the details.
That’s it for this Frequent Miler week in review. Check back soon for our week in review around the web and this week’s last chance deals.
