Costco is currently offering discounts on Apple App Store / iTunes gift cards for Costco members. This deal stacks with this quarter’s Discover 5% bonus at warehouse clubs, making for some great total discounts.
The Deal
- Costco.com is offering the following:
Key Terms
- Valid through 2/10/18 (or while supplies last)
- Limit 2 per member
Quick Thoughts
If you’re an Apple user and frequently download entertainment for your trips, these can be a great way to save a few bucks on money you’ll otherwise spend. If you have a Discover card, you can earn 5% cashback at warehouse clubs this quarter (on up to $1500 in spend) provided you have activated the bonus category for your account. If you are in the first year of Discover card membership, your cash back should double at the end of the year — making for an effective 10% back on these already-discounted prices. Costco Executive members will also stack an additional 2% back. In total, a Costco Executive member buying a $200 card with a first-year Discover card would get a net discount of 29.5% (17.5% discount with the sale + 5% Discover now + 5% Discover at the end of year 1 + Costco Executive 2%). That’s terrific.
Keep in mind that there is a limit of 2 per customer. I would expect that to mean a limit of two of each denomination — but during a previous sale, I ordered two of each denomination and all of my orders were cancelled. YMMV.
H/T: Slickdeals
I’m almost positive costco only accepts visa credit cards.
This deal is online. I ordered a little while ago. They take Visa, Mastercard, and Discover online.
Is purchasing online count as warehouse purchase?
I don’t see why it wouldn’t — Costco is a warehouse club.
Can I use iTunes to pay for apple music?
I know I can’t use iTunes at the Apple Store.
I’m actually not an Apple user myself, so I can’t say for sure….but I feel like it would be ironic if you can’t use a gift card with the word “tunes” in it for music. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
Yes, you can.
