The Chicago Seminars is an epic points-and-miles meetup event that happens every year in October at the Holiday Inn Elk Grove in Chicago, IL. It always features a fantastic lineup of speakers and attendees fly from all over the country — often year after year — to attend. This year, an in-person event obviously won’t be possible, so the event has gone online. This Saturday, from 10am to 1pm Central time, Stefan Krasowski of Rapid Travel Chai will host a nonstop variety show of points-and-miles speakers that enlighten, entertain, and elevate your Saturday for just elevent bucks (with proceeds going to charity). Come join us.

Quick Thoughts
Points and miles events like this are always a good time and are typically a good opportunity for people to share tips and exchange information that you may not find written in posts. They can also be a great chance to network with others “in the game”. Obviously this year is a unique situation, but the ability to connect via the Facebook forum and to attend without needing a plane ticket and hotel might make this event particularly attractive.
Topics are set to be rapid fire as you can guess based on the long list of speakers and tight timeframe. Topics to be covered include:
- Amplify your earnings and maximize your savings in 2-player mode
- Hyatt mattress running promotions
- IHG Ambassador promo
- Earning Delta status with the current card MQM offers
- Changing world Of Aeroplan
- One non-rev to the rule them all, plus that blocked middle seat
- U-Haul across the US, home renovation
- Managing and organizing points
- Estate planning and your miles
- Hotel alternatives
- Buying groups
- Reselling for the holidays
The answer to your next question is no, I’m not talking about Hyatt mattress running.
If you’re free this Saturday and/or if you just want to support a good cause and check out the presentations via the replay after the fact, I think this is worth considering if for nothing else for the novelty of an online variety show bringing together such a wealth of points & miles knowledge.
For more information, click here to go to the event registration page. Note that I do not believe they are publishing a schedule in order to keep the event fresh and maintain an element of mystery. I hope to see some of you there in the comments during the live stream!
is this an event where even beginners can benefit from attending?
What is the link to watch on demand?

Completely forgot to register. Is there any way to make the donation and get access to a replay and the group??
I signed up for Chicago Seminars on October 5th and got confirmation but no emails since. How can I get the link?
An email to all attendees with log-in instructions went out this evening, you should have it. If still not received, reply to your original confirmation email and we’ll see it.
@Nick Reyes Reyes Nick, I just signed up because I realized there was a replay option (I’m working until Noon PDT tomorrow). Will I still get an invite to the bonus event 10/16 given I signed up after you published the info about additional event?
Yes, I tried to reach all recent attendees with notice emails.
Thanks to Stefan and all who put this together each year. I haven’t been able to attend but will for sure watch the recorded version
Just woke up and it’s already sold out?
Any chance of increasing the capacity since its a virtual event?
Updated, sorry for that, changed the settings, open again.
If not, any chance of making the stream available after the event is over?
And yes, replay is available to all attendees.
Updated, sorry for that, changed the settings, open again.
Says unavailable. Is it sold out?
Nvm, working now.
Opened up again, please re-try. Thank you.
Do you guys know how the replay works? I cannot attend tomorrow but I want to watch it later and am wondering do I just sign up now?
Yes, sign up now. Thank you for joining,
When travel returns to normal, I very well might have to join a Chicago Seminar in person since it is <2 hours drive. But then I saw the image on the registration page and it looks like a room full of 40K-to-Far-Away participants trying to save money … sitting on the floor, packed in a room :-).
File photo. A few months ago the what-if scenarios of holding in person we of course thought about much reduced numbers, setting up tents in the parking lot for distancing, and so on.
Tried using the link provided, got to the registration page, and get error message: “there was a problem submitting your order.” Have VPN turned off for the transaction.
Link works for me on Safari mobile: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/chicago-seminars-2020-variety-show-tickets-124037189573
Looking forward to seeing Nick and Stephen’s presentations tomorrow 🙂
It works for me, too. I forwarded your comment to Stefan though to see if we can get an assist in figuring out the issue.
EventBrite is a major ticketing platform that I don’t think will listen to me. In recent months I’ve used my own VPN less not just because not traveling but because more sites don’t like them and end up with these issues, which is frustrating.
