3 Negative SLH experiences since Hilton took over. 1. Got downgraded at The View in Lugano. Diamond status made no difference and they had normal “View” rooms available. 2. SLH in Tunisia Sidi Bou Said cancelled 2 days before arrival claiming shutdown due to emergency repairs. Walking by property I noticed them welcoming guests, clearly not closed. 3. SLH in Paris Le Narcisse I booked a base room that was either queen bed or 2 twin beds; requested twins, called a week ahead and was told they reserved 2 twin beds; 72 hours before arrival they asked for my arrival time and I confirmed twin beds and they replied only queen bed available and said only way to get twin beds was to pay 397 Euros per day in addition to the 120k points. I’m not hating on Hilton, but all three of my SLH stays since the merger have been disappointing. YMMV.
Excellent commentary. Thanks.
Citi’s expanding stable of transfer partners is encouraging. Wells has indicated it will continue to expand its list of partners, which is also encouraging.
