Quick Thoughts
This offer provides some very nice savings if you’ve been considering a Homes & Villas stay. Even if you hadn’t been looking at one previously, it could be worth checking out your options if you need to book any paid accommodation for the coming year, as the $250 statement credit could more than offset any additional cost of booking through this platform.
The final line of the terms suggests that you might be able to pay for some of the stay now and some in the future. If that’s the case, you might be able to pay $1,000+ now to use the Amex Offer on one card, then pay the remaining $1,000+ on another card with the Amex Offer loaded to it to earn two sets of $250 statement credits. Marriott Homes & Villas frequently runs promotions giving bonus points on stays, which will stack nicely with the savings from this Amex Offer. Stacking those with this Amex Offer could create some excellent rates on vacation rentals.

Often times Homes & Villas charges an additional security deposit, which is refundable. I’m curious how this could impact the credit. Say for example if the stay is $750, plus $300 security deposit, totaling $1050. I assume you would get the $250 credit from Amex. But then after your security deposit is returned, would the $250 bonus be clawed back?
