Marriott Homes and Villas recently launched a new promo that gives 3x points on 3+ night stays. It applies to all bookings that are made by 3/27/24 and that are completed by 5/31/24.
If you’re staying within the next month, this can also be stacked with an Amex offer that gives $250 back after spending $1000 with Marriott Homes and Villas.
The Deal
- Stay 3+ consecutive nights with Marriott Homes & Villas and earn 3x points per dollar with a new promotion (registration required).
- Stack with an Amex Offer that gives $250 back after spending $1000 (expires April 15th).
Key Terms
- A “stay” is defined as three (3) or more consecutive nights spent at the same property, regardless of check-in and check-out activity.
- Registration of Marriott Bonvoy Member’s Marriott Bonvoy account is required for this promotion. Members must register by March 27, 2024. See REGISTER NOW Link on: https://homes-and-villas.marriott.com/en/offers/3XMAR24
- Registered Marriott Bonvoy Members earn triple points per eligible paid stay at a participating home rental booked between March 9, 2024 (12:01 AM EST) – March 27, 2024 (11:59 PM EST) through the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy website (“HVMB Platform”). Payment for stay must be made in cash.
- Stays of three (3) or more consecutive nights must be completed during the promotion earning period, beginning March 9, 2024, up to and including nights stayed on or before May 31, 2024.
- Members earn five (5) base Points for each U.S. dollar, or the currency equivalent, on all Qualifying Charges incurred and paid for by the Member through the HVMB Platform.
- Promotion bonus Points are calculated based on 3X base Points earned per stay within the promotion earning period and do not include Elite bonus points also awarded for the stay.
- Charges that do not qualify for Points include, but are not limited to, taxes, booking fees, cleaning fees, security deposits, and extra add-on services purchased and/or applied to home rentals booked through the HVMB Platform.
- Provided that the correct Marriott Bonvoy Membership Account Number is added as part of the booking process, Points will automatically appear in the Member’s Account within seventy-two (72) hours following the completion of their stay.
Quick Thoughts
Marriott Homes and Villas is almost constantly doing some sort of promo that usually comes out alongside a stackable Amex offer giving $200-$300 off. This one’s no exception.
H&V properties normally only earn 5 points per dollar, so the 3x earning takes them up to 15 points per dollar (+ elite and credit card earnings) – even more rewarding than the 10x rate that you earn at most Bonvoy hotels. While this is certainly better than a kick in the pants if you have a stay planned, for most folks it won’t be something to go out of their way for.
You can stack this promotion with a Marriott Homes & Villas Amex Offer that’s giving $250 back as a statement credit after spending at least $1,000. That Amex Offer ends on 4/15/24, however, so you would need to spend $1000 before that date (for instance via a deposit), regardless of whether or not the stay is happening after the 15th.
Homes & Villas has its own separate entry on shopping portals, so be sure to click through from one of those before booking. You can find the current rates here, here and here.
Stay away from these properties! Marriott and their support team have no ability to help when there are problems. Last week we arrived on Maui for a 4 night stay. The power was out in the building but not anywhere else in the area. We called the property management company’s on call person since we arrived late. He was no help and even asked what property we were staying at. We called the power company and were told there were no outages in the area but that they’d look into it. Marriott’s homes and villas offices were closed so I left a message. MHV was nice to call and open a ticket for us. They called the property management company and then called me back within 2 hours, they were surprised that the management company hadn’t called me and had told MHV that it was an island wide outage. The management company called me finally around noon Maui time and said they’d look into it. They never called me back. MHV called to ask if I’d been contacted about a one day refund, I said no. They later called and said the property manager refused to refund anything and MHV refused to refund anything. They finally gave in and said they’d give me 20k points, not close to a day’s value. They also refused to move us to a hotel property. And that was the end of it. I will never rent from them again nor will I recommend this service.
