Quick Thoughts

None of these are particularly interesting or worth changing trave plans for, but each one could be a nice addition for someone who has eligible travel planned already.

Probably the most interesting one to me, and to many folks over winter and the holidays, is the 3K points bonus per night at Hyatt Vacation Club (HVC). We value Hyatt points at ~1.7 cents each, so that amounts to ~$54 rebate/night. Hyatt Vacation Clubs tend to be relatively pricey whether you use cash and points, so getting 3,000 points per night back will take a bit of the sting off the hefty price tags. If you’re planning on visiting one, don’t forget that HVC is one of the brands in Hyatt’s ongoing Brand Explorer promotion.

Homes and Hideaways is Hyatt’s new-ish and fairly underwhelming vacation rental platform. Points redemptions on properties through Homes and Hideaways are poor-to-mediocre value and usually end up being around 1.2 cents each. The 20% rebate would make them a better deal, but still leave most rentals well under that 1.7 cents per point threshold.
