I noted a few times in the past week how I was looking forward to deals coming with Prime Day, but not just with Amazon. Some of my favorite Prime Day deals come fromĀ other sites looking to compete with Amazon. This post will track non-Amazon deals that may be of interest over the Prime Day shopping holiday and I will continue to add to it as I see things that may be of interest but (at least in some cases) may not be worth their own dedicated posts.
Don’t forget the card-linked deals
Remember that many retailers may be available through popular card-linked programs like the Dosh app. See Stephen Pepper’s full guide to card-linked programs and the networks on which they run (AKA which programs stack) and his follow-up post: Beauty In The Eye Of The Cardholder: Stephenās Top 6 Card-Linked Programs.
Tools for finding Prime Day deals and avoiding buyer’s remorse
See this post for tips written with Amazon Prime Day in mind, though most of them can help with sourcing deals in general: 5 Tools for weeding through Prime Day deals and reducing buyerās remorse
Shopping portal deals
- $10 cash back when you make a contactless payment at your favorite small business with a Pixel phone.
- Rakuten is offeringĀ 10% / 10x back on many stores, including Dell, Saks, and many more.

Product Deals
- Dell 27 Monitor – S2721HNĀ +Ā $25 Dell promo gift cardĀ for $129.99. Our affiliate link here, but alternatively go through a shopping portal. Don’t forget the Amex Offer for 10% back and use the Amex Business Platinum Dell credit ($100 between January and June). Rakuten is at 10x Membership Rewards points or TopCashBack is atĀ 11% cash back. You may also be able to sign up for the email list for a 10% off coupon code (which may or may not stack with a portal). Without the coupon and assuming cash back, you could go through TopCashBack to get $13 back, get $13 back from the Amex Offer, and get $100 back if you haven’t yet used the Dell credit on the Business Platinum for a net cost of $3 (plus tax) for the monitor and $25 promo gift card. I own what is essentially an older model of the same monitor (purchased on clearance from Staples for $75) and I’m happy enough with it (I would prefer it to be touchscreen, but that’s an entirely different price point and I am otherwise plenty satisfied).
- Hisense – 60″ Class A6G Series LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV for $380 from Best Buy. Don’t forget stacking Amex Offers or 5% back via the Point Debit Card.
- Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 earbuds for $199.95. Stack with a shopping portal for about 6% back. Alternatively, B&H Photo also has these for the same price.
- Lifetime 46ā³ Adjustable Portable Basketball Hoop For $99 from Walmart
- Gorilla 18 ft. Reach MPXA Aluminum Multi-Position Ladder with 300 lbs. Load Capacity Type IA Duty Rating for $129. Might be a good use of Amex +4x if you earned that deal through a referral during the SPRING4WARD event.
- BuyDig $50 off $100 or more on clearance items with coupon codeĀ CLEAR50
- Discount Tire Direct flash sale of up to $110 off of four tires. Stack with rebates and shopping portal cash.
- Dyson V8 Absolute for $349.99 direct from Dyson. Comes with “free tools worth $75 when you add to basket”. Stack with Rakuten for 10x / 10% back. I think there may also be a card-linked offer for Dyson, so check the various apps (apologies if I’m remembering incorrectly).
- HP Reverb G2 Virtual Reality Headset for $399 at Walmart. This looks to be an excellent price if it includes the controllers as per the description. I have a previous-generation HP VR set that came with a laptop purchase. I haven’t had a chance to play in a long time and I’m not a big gamer, but I found it to be surprisingly fun.
- iPhone SE 2020 + 3 months unlimited Cricket sell service for $180 before $25 Chase Offer. This can possibly be stacked with a referral offer (apparently $25?) or a shopping portal (current rates look to be up to $10), which makes for an even better deal. After 3 months, you should be able to downgrade to the $30/month plan for 3 months and then you should be able to get an unlock from Cricket if that’s what you’re after.
- $25 off $100 in Toys and Games at Target.com with Circle discount
- Nike men’s Quest 3 running shoes for $37.60 with promo codeĀ FAST20
- Insignia 8qt digital multi-cooker / pressure cooker for $19.99 for My Best Buy student members (apply the offer by checking a box during the checkout process)
- Google Pixel Buds, Clearly White for $79.00 at Walmart
- Jabra Elite Active 75t Wireless Charging Grey Certified Refurbished at eBay for $67.99 with promo code JULY4SAVINGS
- Crandall Office Furniture 15% off sitewide with promo code PRIMEDAY. These guys specialize in refurbished Steelcase chairs. They offer a 12 year warranty. Online reviews are mixed, so do your research.
- Philips Hue 9ft Bluetooth / Zigbee Light Strip Bundle for $59.99 at Costco.
- ASUS – Zenbook 14″ Laptop – AMD Ryzen 5 – 8GB Memory – NVIDIA GeForce MX450 for $569.99 at Best Buy. This should stack with 5% back in points via the Point Debit Card and possibly with a shopping portal for another 1 or 2% back.
- illy coffee is offering 20% off sitewide with coupon code summer. Start with a shopping portal for 4% / 4x cash back. Stack it with a new Amex Offer out today that’s good for $10 back on $50 plus. Check out via PayPal to use your monthly $30 Amex Platinum PayPal credit (ends 6/21) and you’ve got a lot of decent coffee for not a lot of money.
- Google Home Mini (1st Gen) Smart Speaker with Google Assistant Voice Control in Charcoal for $12.99. I own a couple of generations of Google Home / Google Home Mini, and Google Nest products. Privacy concerns aside, I find them incredibly convenient around the house. Whether playing music, checking the weather, or entertaining my son with educational stuff (like “OK Google, what’s the animal of the day?”) or brain games (like Ding Dong Coconut), we use these things all the time. If you got in on recent Lowe’s gift card deals, you may have some $15 Lowe’s GCs hanging around and this could be a decent use.
- Kitchenaid Professional 600 Stand Mixer (refurbished) for $180 after coupon. Clicking through will show a price of $199.99, but if you wait a moment after clicking through you should get a pop-up inviting you to join the email list for a coupon good for 10% off, which will apply to this. Not sure if you can stack that with a shopping portal. Note that this is refurbished, but my experience with refurbished Kitchenaid products has been excellent.
- HP ENVY x360 for a solid price. Slickdeals notes a pretty solid build on an HP ENVY x360 for $940. Go through Rakuten for 10% / 10x. I’ve owned several HP laptops now and been very happy with their higher-end lines.
- Target has a Spalding 50″ portable basketball hoop for $132.50. I’m not sure about the quality, but the price seems good.
- Kamado Joe Jr. 13.5 inch Charcoal Grill in Blaze Red for $299.00 at Walmart. I’ve seen this product go on sale for this price before, but usually that’s off-season and not from a major retailer where returns are easy if you’re dissatisfied. This grill is really small, but it is much more portable than a full size one and I’ve considered this size before to have one to dedicate for a specific purpose. I’m a big fan of my Big Green Egg and love to make pizzas on it at this time of year, which could also work with this one!
Sadly the 20% off Chipotle gift cards at Target deal appears to be dead already.
On the illy, why does the Amex $30 Paypal credit end 6/21–I thought it was through the end of the month?
Well you’re right that it’s confusing as-written. I meant “June 2021” when I wrote 6/21, but since I wrote it *on* 6/21, that’s super unclear. LOL – sorry, you are correct that it is through the end of the month.
