Quick Thoughts

This offer actually came out a week ago ahead of Small Business Saturday. I had intended to write a quick post about this one sooner but it got lost in the shuffle. When I remembered it today, I thought it was worth a quick highlight for others who may have seen it in their inbox and forgotten about it.

NorthOne is basically a glorified business checking account that costs $10 a month and doesn’t add much for that fee beyond what you can get with many other accounts. However, they recently had a $135-$180 new account member bonus, so I figured that some readers may have an account (I opened my account a year ago for a $300 bonus and between periodic offers like this one and a few times where I have asked to cancel and they have offered to waive the fee for a couple of months, I have ended up keeping it open for a year. I did pay the $10 monthly fee a few times. I have come out ahead, but that’s more luck than good strategy thus far).

Anyway, if you have an account, check your email. They sent one email with the subject line “Spend $40, get $20 on us” and a follow up with the subject line “A $20 treat for Small Business Saturday”. I’m going to be sure to use the card on two $20 transactions that I am positive will post with today’s date as I did once get burned on one that posted a day too late. This is a small win, but I’m happy to take them up on $20 in free money.
